Of course 1440p is better, but I wouldn't know the difference because I haven't tried it.
You should prioritize it like this though:
A GPU that can handle 150+ FPS > a 144hz monitor > an IPS monitor > 1440P or 4K (are the least important and most expensive things, but if you can afford all of it you're sure to get an amazing experience in games)

You're not going to be able to play with 60fps at max setttings in 1440p unless you have multiple graphics cards.
