Is this game worth 20 bucks? It seems cool but it feels like it hasn't gotten much discussion since it came out.
It was fun when it launched, now it's pretty much dead because devs fucked up and took too long to add anything new or to fix bugs/exploits.
Devs are on a Christmas vacation. Swedes gonna be lazy Swedes.
It's pretty good, and probably worth $20. Most of the discussion is in the /vtg/ thread on /vg/.
Just get L4D2 - it's pretty much the same and has a more active community.
are there any games with realistic damage? i hate when i swing my sword at an opponent, at best all they do is flinch and then carry on as if nothing happened. or shoot somebody in the face, but it didn't take off all their hp so they're still completely mobile.
the one game that i've experienced something similar to what i want was batman arkham city, when you fought the clay people with a sword and you 1 hit them. that was the best feeling ever, are there any games where the entire thing is like that?

Does anyone else feel as if they went the cheap way to make this game more difficult by just adding groups of enemies that bum rush you.
Iron Keep for example there are about 5 extra Alonne Knights than there are in the original and they all come after you at the same time.
Also the Heide Tower of Flame is near impossible to do without summons if you kill the dragonRIDER first, with all of the White Heide Knights that travel around.(I swear those enemies are broken with their hitboxes)
It also seems to favor high strength/super tanky builds as the enemies have near limitless stamina and you often half to sacrifice health in order to kill them.
Also as a player of all other from software games this one feels as if it has the most cheap deaths, such as the black gulch area having enemies that nearly instakill those without insane amounts of health and the ridiculous statues. I know they put an extra bonfire there, but i don't remeber any areas like that in the other games.
Another good example is the Royal Rat Authority fight which feels like a rehash of Sif only made stupid with the little toxic rats.
It actually wasn't hard for my high intelligence character, but my previous Dexterity character would get bum rushed by absolutely everything in the game and was overwhelmed so easily.
I hope the butthurt isn't leaking through but the difficulty feels from unfairness rather than just challenging.

No, they actually improved the difficulty in more meaningful way.
Exactly what original Dark Souls II failed in.
If you pay attention, the enemies actually come to you more one by one in SOTFS. In original, they were sparse but always grouped.
I'm bored and want to try something new
I've never touched a Diablo game, but since 3 is the newest I assume I'll be wanting to play it? All I know is that the launch was a disaster but the expansion fixed most issues
Worthwhile or should I look for something else?
It is actually pretty fun now, BUT you'll have to shell out money for both the base game AND the expansion.

With the expansion, it's actually pretty fun. It perplexes me that they fiddlefuck around with Heroes of the Legends of Defense of the Ancient Storm while they have this game to actually build upon.
It can get grindy once you get all your set pieces as you need to level up your gems, but it just gives you more goals. The seasons also breathe life into the game and I enjoy starting from a clean slate every couple of months.

They are, actually. There's a new big patch coming soon. They'll finally make seasonal legendaries available to non-seasonal heroes. Because I quite honestly don't like to spread thing my playtime over different characters every season. I just want to build up my main one. And, well, I don't have much time to play as I did back in D2 days, so I can't just max out a character in a single season.
