I'm convinced that nobody has actually ever beaten this game. It's just an inside joke, like Easy Pete being the final boss of New Vegas or something like that.
The difficulty ramps up to an unfair degree with no warning and one bad RNG can totally screw you up. In runs I was doing well, I suddenly got a major string of bad luck that ended it for me. I think it's literally impossible to win.

Should I get pic related? The matthewmatosis review got me interested and I played the demo. I had some fun but does beating the same enemies repeatedly not get boring? Does the game have a good variety of enemies/gameplay/environments?
It's definitely good. Probably in my top 10, it really picks up in the second half

It's good and the most original platinum game (gameplay-wise) out there. But its not necessarily for everyone.

It's great and it's like 25 bucks, it's not a big risk to take. And yes it's got good variety of gameplay. Some would say it's got TOO good variety of gameplay, because some of the shoot 'em up segments can get annoying.

How long you been playing? I'm 24, been playing since I was 2 and I literally can't enjoy video games unless they have an amazing narrative. Used to be id play a game even if it was utter shit just to beat it. It was beyond a hobby.
Now... I'm dead inside and play LoL and Minecraft all day.
