What games let you shoot up medieval knights with modern firearms, or blast Industrial Revolution era forces with sci-fi weapons? The only thing that comes to mind is Darkest of Days, which didn't really take the idea far enough.

2nd game is way better. It's supposed to be about the story. If you don't like it don't play it. Same exact reason so many people drop baldurs gate. A game about living in a concentration camp, which could either be its own separate game or include that in a game where you play through events like 9/11, school shootings, etc. from the perspective of an escapee or something - too bad retards would be enraged, so it'd never get made.
A really detailed high school simulator would be great, but I doubt it could ever be made like how I am thinking of it.
