Dragon Age is comfier than The Witcher. That's all that matters. Though I will say this; brewing potions in the witcher 1 is very very very (very) very very very very very very very very very satisfying.

What do you think of games that try too hard to be like Dark Souls like Salt and Sanctuary or Lords of the Fallen?
Lords of the Fallen bothered me because it didn't feel like it was really trying to be anything but a 1:1 clone of Dark Souls.
Darksiders, for instance, has God of War style combat, but also uses a progression and item system similar to Zelda. Even with similar gameplay mechanics like bomb-plants, it tries to be its own thing. LotF was trying to be Dark Souls right down to the control scheme.

The same happens with Salt and Sanctuary but in 2D.
You can see in the videos that is nearly a ripoff of Dark Souls but with shittier artstyle and in 2D.
Without understanding what makes Souls good all of them are just superficial reproduction which are generally shit.
But they could be good with the right developer and the right understanding.
Honestly they could also be better. Its not like from is a perfect dev and it is not like they invented action rpgs.
