Hell yes it makes me sad, I miss retail vanilla. I miss it when the game wasn't datamined to hell. I miss it when the community wasn't shit. I miss it when you actually had to think about how to quest and where to go because databases didn't exist and you actually had to ask for help. I miss having a bunch of close online friends. I miss the ridiculous eight hour raids working through bosses when we didn't know what we were doing and strategies weren't around. I miss doing stupid shit and not knowing where to go.
No. I didn't even raid or get legendary weapons but I still enjoyed the time I invested playing it 11 years ago.
I'd rather move on to something new, whether Legion offers anything worth staying for only time will tell. But I'm not optimistic.

Good idea taken for one game taken way too far by a rabid fanbase.I'm kind of excited for the movie, it might be watchable.
First one was OK, never played any of the others. Might check out the movie at some point whenever it comes out.
I only played the first game, and to be honest I didn't get past the second night because I was terrified and that impairs my ability to play games well. Plus I have mild arrhythmia and I didn't want to risk having a heart attack. I don't even normally play horror games most of the time because of my condition, but I wanted to try Five Nights at Freddy's despite that. I'm probably not going to buy the others because again, don't want to have a heart attack.

When they moved from Halo 2 to Halo 3 for RvB.
It stopped being vidya Seinfeld and became a shitty pseudoaction series with loads of unresolved plot threads and other miscellaneous bullshit. That, and they stopped doing Strangerhood/PANICS.

Dark Souls is the single deepest, most challenging, most skill-based game ever created. There is not a single other game in any genre that comes close to the level of skill Dark Souls requires.
This is why Dark Souls threads are the best, most intelligent threads on /v/. Only the smartest, brightest, and most patient people post in them. Essentially, the very best of humanity posts in them.
Conversely, the only people who don't like Dark Souls clearly don't have the skills to handle its depth. It is too hardcore for them. That's okay though. Games like Halo exist for people like them. Dark Souls Hunter fans are too good to hold grudges.
