now if only they had removed the stupid throwing and cutting attack because it slowed everything down too much
So how the fuck do you kill those?
I swear they're even worse than the Drakekeeper Knights from 2.
They swing endlessly, never stagger, never tire and kill me in two hits tops.
Parrying is semi-effective, but the timings are so weirdly delayed I have trouble getting them down.

Did anyone else findthe secret labyrinth underneath smouldering lake? If you get the basalisk canon to hit this specific patch of stones in the lake it reveals another secret area.I found it entirely by accident and felt like sharing it. This game is too fucking cool.

VtM:B. BG2 and Torment are probably tied for second. I've always wanted to like IWD, but without a story it's just never grabbed me once I'm over the combat.

I really liked the adventuring feel of Baldur's Gate.

Why do people say this is one of the greatest games of all time? I recently got it for the 3ds since I never owned an N64 and I wanted to finally play this game and I am so fucking disappointed its unreal.
I seriously want to know why people think this game is so good, I cant believe how hidden everything is and how nearly impossible the game is without a guide. I just got to the fire temple and have no desire at all to keep playing.
All this hidden and cryptic shit, I mean I don't want hand holding but on my first time how am I suppose to know about the scarecrow without a guide? Or where to use him to reach certain areas? I know this feels like a rant but all the praise I've heard for this game I feel like its just people having on nostalgic glasses, and Im not even at the water temple yet.
You're right. OoT is the absolute king "nostalgia goggles" game. It wasn't good in the 90's and it sure as hell isn't good now. If you're hating it just stop playing, it really isn't going to get any better.

How do you feel about episodic games?
Awful. Alan Wake isn't though. Why is that there? It was released as a complete product.
It's nice to have less stuff encumbering my back log, I'm constantly behind on games and when I see "episodic" I don't even add it to my list of games to consider
Also, why is this a trend now?
We all know that it is for making tons o monis, but would this type of thing bring some new "progress" to the industry?
The things I see about it:
PROS
-It could let developers make a GREAT FUCKING GOOD parts/chapters of the games, since they would only focus on single or just some chapters of the game
-It would be possible to make something that "glues" all the parts together (if this is even possible today), making all the episodes a whole game.
-Developers could focus on different types of gameplay on different chapters.
CONS
-It would take 2 fucking years to reach to the end of the history, depending on the level of development they would put in each chapter/part.
-If the late chapters don't sell well, there's a risk developers would drop it, leaving us with no proper ending.
-It fucking sucks to pay full price for a game divided in 6.

4K is a meme and no console will ever use it without going back to PS1 tier graphics with how much CPU power it's going to take off the game.
What went wrong?
60$ pricetag on a game with very minimal replayability, not all characters are unlocked from the start forcing a filler in between unlocking good characters.
It's upsetting to see a good idea bail so fast.

And I'm currently starting my first playthrough of BG, seeing all of these hate threads on Dragonspear oddly helped get me into the mood. Rolled a zerker, gonna multi mage.
I want to play organically ofc, but is there any romance in the first game? I ask because I'm playing a female, so if I want to romance a female NPC (why wouldn't I?) I need to use the editor to force start it.

No idea how you could possibly do that without farming for lives. And some of those cages are so insanely hidden. They might not even pop up without you doing some inane shit.
I'm currently replaying it oniPadand luckily they have a mode that gives you infinite lives so that I dont have to farm.
