Nintendo at this moment simply can´t afford to announce how far away NX really is.
March 2017 gives us what, ~4 extra months to "get the games ready"? 4 months ain't shit when developing a game, this will hardly make a difference.
Let alone how stupid it would be to not have their new console at a big -real world- conference, and launching outside of the holiday season.
Nintendo will set itself up right before the next generation starts (2018) to fill the needs of all those longing for something fresh and new, just like they did with the Wii U.
Calling it now:

> November 2017: NX launches, Zelda WiiU/NX is a launchgame.
Hence Zelda WiiU's releasedate on the press section at nintendo.com getting changed from 'March 2017' to just '2017'.
They're just feeding us the delays in small doses, look at Zelda WiiU: "2015, of wait 2016, oh wait 2017". As if they didn't know it would be 2017 when they put 2016 on those 10sec of footage last November. But they couldn't tell us that.

I was thinking starting development on a mmo simulation game.
The focus would be the community aspect.
Let's say you'd have a Harvest Moon type game. (Which I'm only using as an example, since Stardew Valley is way too good and only came out recently, which doesn't seem appropriate to copy-paste)
So, instead of focussing on grinding/loot/instances, you focus on development of your own character and farm. Your harvests would be used in the community market. There would be events, some hubs/vistas were people get to meet up and chat. You could visit each other and help out.
Kinda like farmville, I guess, only not crap and on mobile devices.
Also, I'm thinking more like an Animal Crossing kind of game. Where your main purpose is to collect stuff through special actions. (Befriend people, partake in real time events, take care of your town, etc.)
Would you play it?
I'm looking for idea's to really spice up the game and make it something unique and special.

I'm not sure it would work as an mmo as part of the charm of those games is the peace and quiet, having 100 other people run around ruins that. But by all means go for a single player, I'd love an animal crossing like game for pc.

Good point. That's why I was thinking it's mostely singleplayer, with the option to visit people and meet at hub area's whenever you feel like it. You could also invite people to come to your place/town/farm.
The multiplayer aspect would be in the community market, special events, or just a passive way to help each other out.

So I've never tried this and thought of giving it a go. Is it fun? Also is the first time install supposed to take this fucking long? It's been "applying patches" for about 30 minutes now and the meter is at 55%.

On a first install, it takes a while for it to update. It's normal.
Also it's much, much, much more fun with friends over voice. Solo queue will give you cancer.

It'll to continue to rise at a very slow pace, I don't expect it to be significant for at least another 5 to 10 years.
Although distros like Ubuntu make using GNU/Linux much easier for the uninitiated, the majority of people are still scared of it because they're so used to using something which just werks™ (Windows & Mac).
It'd take many massive fuckups by Microsoft to kickstart gaming on GNU/Linux.
