Sometimes it's better to shoot and miss than wait, aim and shoot. It's just bringing slightly different flow to the combat.

Depends on the game, anything with well implemented multithreading will run fine, anything that relies on high single threaded performance will run like shit, you don't want to play ArmA 3 on any AMD processor.
I'd recommend going with an i5 or waiting for Zen.
If you do get an FX be sure to get an aftermarket cooler, the stock one is loud as fuck and performs very poorly, it's very easy to install though.

Thanks. I don't play games like arma anyway. Tbh I'm trying to get away from console gaming but it's tough. I barely play a lot of pc games anyway so it's tough to justify the extra $100 for an Intel

Gears of War 3 - Seriously 3.0
I don't know how many hundreds of hours I lost getting it but I am never going near another gears game as long as I live.
I plat'd MGSV the other day. It really wasn't worth it and I don't consider it a test of skill, but a test of endurance.
Don't get me wrong, I am a Nintendo fan, though I don't love all of their franchises, but if you think about it Nintendo has been making the same games since the 80s. By that I mean games that are steeped in traditional, arcade design. I'd like to see Nintendo challenge themselves & deliver a few new IPs that have compelling narratives & deep gameplay like in The Witcher 3 or Fallout 4. I think it could really help in bringing variety to their current franchises.
More & more I find myself unable to be grabbed by Nintendo games because most of them lack strong narratives. With Nintendo games, it's pretty much what you see is what you get. Colourful mascot characters collecting bananas & jumping on Goombas just isn't doing it for me anymore. As I'm getting older this stuff gradually appeals to me less & less. I need something that does that little bit more & goes that little bit deeper.
So, what do you think? I think making more games that focus on having strong narratives & a darker or more grounded visual style could really help diversify their offerings. After all, it's said that they make games for everyone, right?

So, /v/, while the game is shit, it still has some playability, so I'm returning to it from time to time and always face the same fucking problem when starting to colonise:
How to fucking handle colonial nations
There are three forms of doing this stuff:
>Get 4 colonies in the region in the most important spot, so you keep them as your own land
>Get colonial nation
>Get 4 crown colonies and handle rest for client state
And none of them being satisfactionary nor profitable in real sense
>Crown colonies
You can have 4 of them. Enough to keep important provinces for trade, but that's all. Technically you can change that in defines.lua, but then again, getting all the colonies on your own is pain in the ass AND since they are considered your own provinces, shitload of "huge empire" bad events can be triggered
>Colonial nations
A really, really mixed bag. On one hand, they are doing colonisation for you, but... what's left for you are metropoly to do? Look as someone else is colonising? Doing colonisation just to loose provinces for the subject nation? Not to mention you technically gain half their profit and half their trade power, BUT keeping the land for yourself provides you simply more. And worst of all things - you can't just keep any provinces within colonial region for yourself, as it's "all or nothing" deal the moment you get colonial nation. Let's also not forget about tariffs, liberty desire and what not

Come up late and provides none of the bonuses of colonial nation, BUT allows you to keep provinces that have true value (all the trade ones). Still, shows up very late and at this points it would be more about conquest of foreign colonies than making your own.
How the fuck can one handle this situation? None feels like real solution. I mean... colonial nations with ability to control some provinces as your own would solve all the problems, but that's not the option, right?

I recently finished SH2 for the first time. I played the PC version, worked great except there were some missing textures at minor points.

Buy the PS3 release. People on this board are severely autistic and will tell you not to because of minor cosmetic changes that make no difference to the core of the game.
SH3 is about the cult so it's automatically inferior to SH2.
Silent HIll 3 prohibits the natural and formulates the surreal in new and fantastic ways; ways that Silent Hill 2 did not. It's much more stolid and creepy.
