>The financial statements of the company that provides Nintendo's ROM chips - used in both consoles and for 3DS game cartridges - have sparked speculation as to whether the upcoming Nintendo NX will drop the use of optical disc drives in favour of cartridges.
As spotted by Screen Critics, Chinese memory manufacturer Macronix is reportedly expecting an increased order of ROM chips from Nintendo, and company chairman Wu Miin made specific reference to the NX in his financial briefing (reported by Money-Link and translated by NeoGAF user Jim_Cacher):
"In the past, Macronix sales performance usually peaked at third quarter, while declined at the fourth quarter. However, Wu Miin pointed out that because Nintendo has announced that the new platform will be launched in March next year, orders should be placed in advance. Therefore, the operating revenue of Macronix in the fourth quarter may be as good as the third quarter."

A group has been "mass-disliking" the CoD launch trailer. These neckbeards are starting to piss me off at this point. Boycotting a CoD game that seems to be the most innovative and ambitious CoD game in years, just to play some fucking WW2 shooter. Screw the fuck off already, no one wants to go backwards in time and play another WW2 shooter. The great ones were already made in the 2000s and there were tons of them. I'm playing the first Dark Souls for the first time. I'm loving it so far and I think I'm coming close to completion.
Do you guys recommend I skip the second game and go straight to the third? For the time being I'm only going to purchase either the third or second.
The second is perfectly fine, /v/ just hates it because it's a maymay to do so.

You can skip the second one if you want. The story is kinda its own thing, while the third is a direct sequel to the first with references to the second.
As far as gameplay goes, opinions on /v/ are heavily divided. I strongly dislike how DaSII platys, so I would recommend that you play DaSIII instead, especially since its the most active.

I understand successful games will always imitate each other. Look at the countless GTA rip-offs after GTA3. But it was always drawing influence while also being largely different in a way.
Take splinter cell for example, hugely influenced by MGS but without a doubt its own animal.
Nioh has literally reskinned Dark Souls, shamelessly. Maybe its a good game, maybe its a great game. But what the fuck, why copy every little detail?
