Playing through this game for the first time and it's pretty great. Only ever played bloodborne but I'm loving this. Any tips? Going for a dex knight character and have completed 1-1, 1-2, 2-1, 3-1, and 4-1. What do I do next? What weapon should I get/use?

You should use whatever weapon you are comfortable with and upgrade them from time to time. You might as well do 5-1 next to get a taste of every archstone. But 5-2 is one of the hardest levels, be wary.
