This is an expanded thought from another thread that I've been observing for a while here. It's something I'm seeing from all sides against any 3D platformer that has a chance of success or returning.

Just...what?
Why has this sentiment sprung up so suddenly, across all major mascots relevant to the genre of 3D platformers? I've heard the argument that there's "no room in the market" because of Mario. Why does everything have to be as successful as Mario? We have entire genres that have a multitude of games of varying scales, budgets and fanbases that aren't displaced by the market ruler, and are able to coexist off one another.
Yet with the recent stir of interest in the 3D platformer, for as much excitement that it garners, there are as many people ready to downplay any and all possible venues of it's potential return to the market. Maybe I'm not looking enough, but I have yet to see another genre of gaming, big or small, have any potential sign of growing or resurgence get actively discouraged by so many people.
What is going on?

That's probably less to do with 3D platformers and more to do with Sonic being terrible for over two decades. Even after they found a formula people generally liked they threw it all away in favor of throwing more garbage at the wall.

If you can't get around a fucking stationary turret thats slow as molasses when he moves, in a fucking arena shooter, who's poster slut is a fast as fuck Australian Flash, that also includes a hero who LITERALLY has a "Press 'E' to kill Bastion" button, then you shouldn't be playing video games scrubby.The real problem is Mc-reeeeeeeeee. Let me explain you something.
I like how those two robot girls are thrusting their crotches at each other; knowing that they have much more stamina than humans, I would imagine that they could easily thrust them even further, to the point where they would make contact, and effectively rub their loins together without needing to step forward. Their robotic vulvas would grind together intensely as they keep staring each other down, their hips mechanically, rapidly jutting forward, effectively humping each other's crotch while standing. Eventually they would bring themselves to a climax, and they would simply short-circuit, with some smoke and sparks possibly erupting both from their twitching cross-eyed faces and from their now red-hot vulvas, and they would remain in that same position forever until someone separated them.

Played through Dark Souls 3 a few times now.

Try out whips for a run. It's tough at first, but you'd be surprised with how good the one handed R2 is fully charged due to horizontal sweep, good power, and it goes through walls without bouncing off.

Alex players are the same as we have always been. We are given a character that's extremely cool and has an awesome moveset, but is complete shit. Whenever we are doing well, it shocks us more than anyone else so of course we are going to get excited and taunt and do whatever else we can to enjoy the extremely rare moments of not being completely destroyed.
