You know, say what you will about the most recent master of orion but I actually really liked the lore for humans being the diplomacy oriented race being that humanity was unique in developing nuclear weapons before a hegemonic world goverment so nobody else ever had things like brinksmanship and proxy wars.

first time playing 4 it was a solid 9
replaying it brings it down to an 8
It's so fucking tedious and the pacing and enemy encounters are garbage

I can't remember, did the other three have any power or influence before that Roman Centurion kicked everything off? If not, then Mantorok was in control for plenty of time without humanity being destroyed or whathaveyou.
