Being the former is suffering. You want to play that shit, but don't know where to begin so don't bother. Then you buy more games to heal the pain and it happens again.

Being part of the former is a good source of stress for me, lately. Shit keeps coming out that I pick up on impulse buys and I still have 8 games on my backlog that I've barely touched thanks to the tag team combo of Overwatch and Total Warhammer.

Browsing through the Steam store, I'm seeing this kind of unimaginative shit more and more often. Can video game designers actually design the content of their video games anymore or has that gotten too much of a burden for them? What the fuck? Can you imagine if 80's-90's classics had had procedurally-generated levels? They'd have fallen right into the pit of anonimity because procedurally-generated levels and choice-based scenarios are shit. They are nothing but tame, dull, raw shit.
I would like to play a video game that gives me a similar kind of challenge as games like the Zelda series, with both puzzle and action elements, but the mere thought of putting a mute character in a pre-determined environment where they must solve pre-designed puzzles while dealing with active enemies seems to give PTSD attacks to generation Y developers.

I'm new to this board but I have to ask this: is there anything similar to this game? I've never played anything like this, the combat system has blown me away. Although it lacks world building and engaging maps it's so much fun to play.
I love FromSoft but I think this combat system is even better.
