Dark Souls 2 has much better graphics than 1, even with the huge downgrade.

This, and to take it further, it basically means a game that focuses on perfecting gameplay will always beat one that focuses on perfecting grafics. A great game can have good graphics but it's games like Deus Ex that stand up even over time as long as you don't get babbys that "can't play it because the graphics are too dated".
