When I was like 12 I was playing this and there was some gangster asian guy with tattoos who came up to me and asked me to play it. I thought I was being robbed and didn't want to get hit so I just gave it but he didn't go away, he just played it for a couple minutes, tears started coming out of his eye and he handed my psp back to me, I was scared as hell

Be honest with me, /v/. Do you think Andromeda going to be THAT bad? They had nearly 4 years to take in feedback about ME3, and with the rise of more old school RPGs, they could possibly return to form with a more ME1 style adventure. I'm pretty hopeful it will be good, at least better than ME3.

but it's also neo-bioware, so there's a solid chance that they'll squander it

Cautiously optimistic about it.
The main reason I probably wont get it though is that I expect them to turn this game into the next Mass Effect 'series', and I'm not really down for another whole trilogy or group of games. If this game ends up being a stand alone story that just takes place in the ME universe, then great. But I just don't want to commit to another story that spans multiple games, I'm not looking for that kind of investment from a series that burned me on it last time.
