I'm playing through Dark Souls for the first time, and figured I'd get better answers from people who argue about video games rather than people who exclusively praise them.
Because I'm retarded, I got all the way up to and through the Quelaag fight with a gimped build.
I thought all magic scaled from intelligence, so I've been pumping that on a Pyromancer swords'n'sorcery build. Imagine my surprise when it does nothing.
My stats are:

>Vit 18
>Att 12
>End 18
>Str 17
>Dex 12
>Res 16
>Int 19
>Faith 8
Am I still close enough to the start of the game that it's more worthwhile to start over and put more points into relevant things, or should I just suck it up and keep going?

You're early enough to restart if you wanted to, you are still pretty early in the game.

no shame in summoning for select bosses for your first playthrough, especially Quelaag on a pyromancer since she's immune to fire anyway. The NPC summon there can basically solo her, so any scrub around should do. It's not too late to do a purer quality (dex/str) build and have a few convenient spells like hidden body with your int level as it is, it's a plenty good build for a first run. Just have fun with the world and bosses themselves and you'll be good.

levels don't mean shit in souls games, unless you need them for matchmaking, just keep playing. maybe you'll find a spell you like latter on or a weapon that has int scaling. almost everybody fucks up their stats the first time around, your gear matters more anyway. as long as you don't use too many resources on a weapon you hate you'll be fine, and even then you can farm pretty much every item you need

An old WWI tank was considered a tank, while now a tank is considered to be something more like an Abrams.
There's a sale on PSN and Armored Core Verdict Day is on cheap. I've been looking to get into the series for a while but I've heard mixed opinions on this one. Should I go for the older games?
I'm mostly looking for detailed mecha building, heard this series is good as that, so that is one of my biggest criteria. Anyone can offer any advice?

I recently got Xbox 360 just to play this game because I heard it was good. We started the game today with 3 of my friends and played for about 5 hours.
And guess what? It fucking sucks.
You thought Zestirias 4 arte cap was bad? Try 3 basic attacks + 1 arte. ONE arte. You can't even chain artes together. You can't even chain artes to basic attacks. Not even free run attack chain to anything. So what the fuck is the point?
I can't even get excited about learning new artes because it's STILL going to be 3 basic attacks + arte. I'm just doing a different one now and can't do anything after it. Oh you got a launcher? Well too bad you can't do anything to the enemy mid air anyway.
And why the fuck is basic functionality of the battle system locked behind skills? You can't throw items to another character without the right skill, you can't even backstep without a right skill. Magic guard? Got a have skill for that!
Please for the love of god tell me it's going to be better. At this point I can't enjoy the game at all.

Guys, I'm having a bit of trouble running this game and would really appreciate feedback.
I'm playing SS:FTE classic from GoG on an absolute toaster. Game runs smooth as silk but unfortunately for some reason every time a tree is about to be destroyed, there's like a 2 second loading/stutter where the game seems to lose it's shit trying to load the 'tree explode' animation.
Any idea why this might be happening? I'm running affinity 1 and compatibility modes here. Seems like such an insane problem, but makes the game unplayable.

It's an integrated graphics machine, but I'm talking about Serious sam TFE classic here. Frame rate is extremely smooth at all times except this one, insane issue.

I have an Xbone and a super shitty Intel HD 4000 laptop. All my friends built gaming PCs, but all they play is overwatch and other games with similar requirements.
I want to be able to play with them on high 60 fps with these types of games, but I'm not about to drop 900+ dollars on building a pc. What laptop do you recommend? Or I should say what general specs should I look for?
Not going to buy one of those gaymin laptop scams either.

you could build a total PS4 killer, as in 1080p + 60fps capable DESKTOP for LESS than 400 bucks.
Laptops will always be more expensive AND underperforming compared to desktops.
