Definitely fills the "gritty crime drama" void that True Detective left. I like the way it's shot, the pacing and the dialogue.
Episode 1 accomplished its one goal- hook me in. I want to see how this pans out.
I'm thinking it wasn't the black guy that gave the long stare at Nas and Andrea outside of her place, but he definitely let someone know about her. The way she acts once she's in the car for the first time- she knows she's going to die that night.

I just hate how they try to use moral blackmail onto their prospective audience when their first trailer looked like shit: "if you don't like this you must be a misogynist". So that's why I hit the dislike button on yt. I suspect most of those dislikes come from people in the same situation.
Think about it. Movies with female leads like Kill Bill, Hunger Games, Mad Max didn't got that bad a response because they didn't look like complete shit. Even flops with female leads like Sucker Punch didn't get this much of a shitstorm onto them.
