Does anyone remember a horror movie or maybe a dark comedy taking place in some gothic mansion home to a supernatural family. In the movie there is a Mistress and a male submissive in a gimp suit or some sort of BDSM wear and he doesn't talk the whole time. At some point the main character comes face to face with him alone and the dude looks retarded and he makes this really loud honking laughter at him. I want to watch Ghost in the Shell, but I'm kind of lost here: I thought there was the 1995 movie and then a 2015 sequel, but apparently it's a lot more complicated than that
I guess what I wanna see is the original 1995 movie, and not the new one which is instead the continuation of a series from what I gathered, right? Are the other movies sequels or are they too stuff that has to do with the series/manga? I just wanna watch a movie, I don't have the time to learn about an entire expanded universe

They're all basically independent from each other except maybe Ghost in the Shell: Innocence (2) which doesn't make much sense without having watched the original.
The best advice I can give is to just follow production order, this applies to pretty much any series of films/tv shows.
