There are currently 23 threads about Star Wars on this board so I'm sorry for saturating it more but maybe you guys can help.
I just watched the prequels for the first time since watching them as a kid and wrote down some questions I have about each film as it was playing. Maybe you can help me answer some? I plan to do the same with the originals which I haven't watched for years either. I'll organize them by each episode. Partially chronological but I did go back and add some in after each film:
Ep 1 Questions
-Who cares about trade routes and taxes?
-Why did they hire such a bad actor to play anakin?
-Why does the podracing look really good for CG and all the creatures look like crap?
-why does the sith set up a trap to try and locate the jedis even though the next scene they say they know where they are
-why does darth maul just stand there and get chopped in half?
-if the high ground is so important in episode 3 why doesn't maul chop off all of obi wan's limbs in mid air?
-Why do they run so quick to escape the droidikas or are able to force jump so fast but obi wan can't run fast enough through the lazers to help Kui Gon?
-what's the point in the blockade if all you need is a working shield, something that even the stupid gungan's clearly have?
-why did kui gon take anakin to the retaking of naboo, the child in which he states in his last breaths is clearly imporant in surviving when he could have just left him at home and picked him up later?
-when landing on coruscant why did they land on a floating pad where they'd have to take another ship to get off? why not just land on a pad on a building or on the ground?
-was the use of midichlorians in making a virgin mother role really needed? couldn't anakin just have been powerful without all that crap?
Ep2 Questions
-Why is the bitchy archive lady so stubborn in saying the cloning planet doesn't exist when a like 6 year old jedi trainee knew it might have been deleted? and why can't obi wan figure this possibility out for himself?
-Why did they shoehorn a love story into this so badly?
-why is love between a jedi and a senator forbidden? he clearly says there are loopholes around love and she never explains why she can't
-Why is Obi Wan so annoyed that anakin is reckless despite being trained by Jinn, one of the most reckless jedis ever?
-Why does Obi Wan say the purpose was to protect the senator only to then jump out of a window after the droid? Leaving padame without protection
-or Why didn't Jango Fett take this opportunity and just shoot that dart at padame or even shoot her to begin with?
-Why does Obi Wan not like anakin being reckless and then jump out of a window?
While this particular piece of art has been confirmed "fake" as it was basically traced from a picture of Darth Plagueis, the people at Colider Videos have several contacts who have actully seen TFA already and have confirmed this is exactly what Snoke looks like

Ive read a few varying sources claiming that it's playing only on christmas day while others say its up to two weeks after. Can anyone confirm?

I'm not a huge Star Wars fan and I absolutely will not give you any hints as to who I am. I've seen the finished movie however and I'm going to post some spoilers.
They set out searching for Luke who is living in solitude after the sort of climax of the movie where there is a lightsaber duel between Finn and Kylo Ren.
During the duel, Kylo continuously and relentlessly swings towards Finn while moving towards him while they talk. It is apparent that neither of them know what the fuck they are doing. Finn is scared shitless and keeps blocking and backing up.
Finn falls back onto the ground eventually and Kylo's lightsaber (which is overheating by this point) explodes in his hand as he swings down against Finn's lightsaber.
Finn and Kylo are now lightsaber-less and in a state of weakness. Kylo is on the ground in front of him holding his hand. The rest of the crew catches up with Finn intending to help him.
As they approach Kylo he says something like "It's too late, we are too strong, even if you end me here the plan is already in motion".
Just as he says that the good guys look up and see a fuckhuge fleet coming towards them through the mist in the sky and on land. Kylo starts laughing and tons of troops and ships move forward as they pursue the good guys.
They all just barely escape and that's when they flee to a distant planet in search of Luke as a sort of last resort. They are not sure if he is even alive.
The planet they find him on is similar to the one Yoda was on.
When they finally find him he's sitting alone in a cave with a hood over his face. Some opening interactions along the lines of "Why do you seek me?" occur. They explain who they are and they tell him what's happening.
He says something like "then my feelings of a disturbance...."
He stands up, pulls his hood down and there's a close up of him now standing. He says "It is as I feared... The force has awakened". He pulls his lightsaber out and it lights up and the screen cuts to black.

George Lucas is the master of oversimplification. All the characters in Star Wars are terribly black and white and not a single one even remotely leans towards the second dimension. The cheap trick to use plain text as exposition for the upcoming events is a slap in the face of cinema. The entire purpose of film is to convey stories through dialogue and images.Lucas doesn't get that.His writing skills are pre-school.

The most over rated movie of all time. Pseudo nerds will have you believing that george lucas ruined this movie that was once so great even though they probably didnt even see the original version until after the new ones came out. You can find these geek posers at your local comic cons repeating everything plinkett says wearing there han shot first shirt thinking they sound like they know what there talking about, but take it from me these movies are on par with bollywood scifi shit dont waste your time.

Let's see, for an adventure, the pacing is mostly off, with lots of periods where nothing happens, and even the action scenes are nothing special. The plot also seems fairly contrived. Say, since this is the final battle between good and evil and all that, the emperor's preparations seem fairly rushed. You'd expect more care to have been taken in keeping that shield intact, for example. Also, since his grand scheme is to turn Luke Skywalker to the dark side of the force, isn't he trying to kill him too soon after Luke offers some resistance?

The original Star Wars is a decent simple sci-fi fantasy adventure. The second one is an outstanding continuation of the same material. The third one is basically just tying up loose ends but has some good action scenes and a spectacular ending.
The prequels are all crap, but if you appreciate "so bad, it's funny" movies, you may get some entertainment out of them.
