What's up with this scene? The whole movie follows one plot, and then suddenly this side-plot comes up from nowhere, and ends right there. Episode IV was supposed to be a standalone movie, it's not like this scene was supposed to give a introduction to Jabba or anything. And it's weird if it's for character depth purposes, as it's the only instance of a scene which gives a insight to a characters background.
