why don't we ever give Danny DeVito shit for being a manlet?
>>64373587
He's fuckin' based, that's why
>>64373587
he's a cool dude
>>64373587
Because he knows that he's one and doesn't give a shit.
Lucas is right you know...
>“They wanted to do a retro movie,” he continued. “I don’t like that. Every movie, I worked very hard to make them different, make them completely different with different planets, different spaceships, to make it new.”

"So completely different they rhyme, like poetry." -George Jar Jar Martin
>>64372587
Retro is good. The retro OT films had an emphasis on storytelling and character. No wonder Georgie hates that.
What did she mean by this?
>>64371252
Nothing will make sense to your American ears.
>>64371252
Did she actually say this? Jesus fucking christ.
Wasn't that the maguffin from Avatar?
I think the issue, for at least me personally, was that the movie just didn't feel like Star Wars. It didn't give me that same vibe that Return of the Jedi or Empire Strikes Back gave me.
Part of it I feel has to do with the J.J. style humor and the music. There are some good tracks in there, such as Rey's theme and a few notes from Kylo's theme...

But the rest of the soundtrack sucks. There is no real memorable song that you hum in your head as you leave...
Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>didn't feel like star wars
maybe what you consider star wars is different from what most other people consider star wars. All i can remember from people is how much it was 'like star wars'
>>64370262
I don't think the soundtrack sucks, I just think it was misplaced a lot of the time throughout the movie.
I agree that Rey's theme was perfectly synches and Han and Leia was on point....but the rest of the new stuff, despite being good, just wasn't edited in properly.
I blame JJ. Also I love the movie.

>I agree that Rey's theme was perfect
brofist, based bro
Why did they have dogs in the first place?
>>64370175
Never know when a dog might come in handy.
>why have sled dogs in a snowy place?
>>64370198
Explain tho. What could 5 dogs in a research camp in Antarctica do?
>>64370229
They aren't sled dogs though, they have tractors and a helicopter
Rank a director's filmography from best to worst.

Memento
The Prestige
Everything else is shit
>there are people who browse this board RIGHT NOW who actually prefer DC cinematic universe to Marvel
Explain yourselves.
>>64369578
I really hate manlets
WB is making a new brand called DC Films
When will Disney rename Marvel Studios to Meme Flicks?
>>64369578
I like Superman and Batman.
What the fuck /tv/? You guys said that this was a bad film.
Damn it, is / ever right about anything?
>>64369409
/tv/ has terrible tastes. Ex Machina is one of the best sci-fi films sinceEuropa Report.
I've seen tons of fedoras here praising babbies first or second AI compared to humans movie, silly.
>multi-billion dollar research facility run by archaic keycards
>no support staff at all
>nobody checking in or at least dropping supplies on a regular basis
>helicopter guy taking robot away without asking any questions at all when he's supposed to be picking up someone else
>not a bad movie
Does anyone else find it funny that the character praised as being a strong female icon is basically just a man?
I mean, right?
I think that's what feminists want, anyways. To be seen as exactly the same as men. Exactly how effective or committed they are to this agenda is another story.
What do you mean just a man? Furiosa is a grill
So Episode 1 was better?
>>64368729
I 100% unironically believe that, OP.
2and 3 are absolutely unwatchable garbage, and while episode 1 has a lot of CGI wank and Jar Jar, I still think it's has more of a grand scope and glimpses of gold.
What happened to the score in TFA? Absolutely forgettable. I can hum a number of the tunes in episode 1 and I haven't seen it in a long time.
>>64368729
All the prequels were better than A New Hope 2.0: Electric Disneyloo
no movie disappointing me more than the phantom menace when I was a kid
I actually enjoyed ep 2 and 3
THIS IS THE MILLENNIUM FALCON! YOU'RE HAN SOLO!
These are death sticks! You are Sleazebaggono!
>>64367556
that's the point where the audience claps and hoots like a retard. I'm sure Jay took a brief break from shoveling wisconsin cheese down his gullet, looked up with this bleary, dairy-addled eyes, and said "hey, I know what those are! 10/10! The Force Awakens saved Star Wars!"
>>64367556
That bit was so lame
Say what you will about The Force Awakens, but Kylo Ren is a failure as a villain.
You can talk all you want about how he seemed vulnerable and "outside the stereotypical villain role", but at the end of the day, nobody cares about muh emotions, they want a threatening villain, and J.J. failed to deliver. Fortunately for him, there weren't repercussions to face, since he's only directing this one, but the next few movies may suffer as a result.
At least Rogue One will probably be good, since Vader's might be the bad guy.
>>64367512
Nothing will make sense to your American ears, and you will doubt everything that we do. But in the end, you will understand.
>wahh I'm frustrated that my low IQ can't understand the complexity of a great villain
>>64367549
Is 2016 the year of copypasta replies?
remember this was a movie?
>>64367282
yeah, and it was amazing. Charlize Theron is waifu-tier.
MOTY 2015 imo
I remember it vividly yet I don't even remember what the Force Awakens was about and I saw that shit last week

Yes, there is no contest.
No, you are.
