They are all status hungry as fuck; their goals are in-line with buying things not achieving happiness by whatever means. TFA is definitely carefully manufactured, but it's a well-made film with heartfelt performances from the actors and character interaction that feels organic, which is far more than I can say for the prequels, no matter how "distinct" and "full of artistic integrity" they are.

Of course it is. Tom Grant hasn't changed his story. He began releasing his tapes of kourtney to a local radio show years ago. Then was interviewed in kurt and courtney. Now there is a movie dedicated to his side of the story.
