Why do TV shows follow this myth that only bad guys call their lawyers? If a good guy is arrested or if a bad guy wants people to know he has "nothing to hide", they won't call their lawyers. Only bad guys that want to cover stuff up "lawyer up", and they're treated like scumbags for doing so (and so are their lawyers). In real life, if you get arrested, you should ALWAYS get a lawyer, doesn't matter if you're innocent, because the cops are convinced you aren't and will try to screw you.

I admire Michael Bay as a director, I really do. He is a filmmaker without guile, his images transparent in their vapid grandiloquence. The qualities and values of maximalism, crassness and jingoism that have consistently garnered mockery and acrimonious distain by many are not ones audiences are cleverly exposing, but most often are simply accurate characterizations of the attitudes such films as the two Bad Boys, Pearl Harbor, and his solely-helmed Transformers franchise directly espouse.
