So has anyone considered how Doomsday can be seen as an avatar of not only Lex Luthor's hatred of Superman, but also one that represents the consequences of the Battle of Metropolis.
Superman did what he had to do in killing Zod, but if he hadn't, there would be no Doomsday. Could he have found another solution? People to this still argue this, but there's no denying that in a series of film where that places importance on the consequences of our choices, Superman's ultimate foe should be an avatar of the finale of the battle of metropolis.
When you really dig deep, it's crazy just how much of BvS is designed as display of the consequences of the actions that took place in Man of Steel...without the need to insult the audiences intelligence by sticking some scene with a cam video saying only ~75 people died like in some other movie.
