Fairly certain it's an advertisement, one that's trying to get you to buy something by spinning some shitty convoluted story. I've got an old mini booklet much like this talking about how you've got to stay classy by buying a wallet, then shilling a wallet at you. Seems like a pretty common form of advertising from way back when, and somewhat hilarious to read.

This is Boruto Quest, a quest set in the universe of Naruto. It is during the generation of Naruto's son after everyone has graduated from their Genin exam. I haven't kept up with the series beyond the end of the original one, so this one is intended to recapture the feel of that time of Naruto. I will not be incorporating the main show or the Boruto movie's plot into the quest, although some recognizable characters will be present. You play as a 12 year old Chunin named Takeshi. You have been assigned a Jounin squad leader named Hanto, and your two squadmates are Kichiro, a young delinquent, and Ai, a strange social outcast of a girl. You are of average skill in most aspects, although your sharp intelligence, and your jack of trades skill set have brought you far. You have just recently graduated to a Chunin after winning the final tournament. You've been regularly completing missions as a Chunin, and making progress in training. A mission against Cultists is underway. Will your entire team survive the encounter?

Everyone's heads whip to the side, and look across the facility. On the other end, an explosive cloud of dust shoots into the sky. Beneath it, green light pierces the veil. At once, a strange sensation fills the air. Almost like electricity, the hair on your arms stands on end. Suddenly the pressure of the creature's Chakra hits you, despite your inability to sense it otherwise.

Anyone would be able to feel this thing's sinister nature. Green light flashes all around, and the dust is blasted away. Something flies into the sky, and it seems nearly larger than the building itself. The monster blocks out the sun before crashing down and destroying a wing of the structure. It swings a claw through the dust, and you catch a glimpse of the colossus.

Long claws of bone white on a scaly, green surface. Each one as long as a bus, maybe more. It claws through the dirt effortlessly, creating rigid valleys several dozen feet deep right before your eyes. The other arm bursts through, dragging itself forward. You watch it squash a fleeing shinobi, who's allegiance you were personally unsure of. Looking around, you notice something about the nature of this war zone.

Everyone is running away. Cutlist or Cloud Shinobi, it's impossible for you to tell as all of them begin to flee the battlefield.

Debris scatters at your feet. You're too stunned to move. Shock, from the explosive destruction of the creature several hundred feet from you. As you stare forward, two eyes gleam through the smoke.

He's staring up at the cloud of smoke, his own eyes burning brightly with resolve. "I know. Everyone, I'm sorry to confirm your suspicions here. There's no doubt that chakra.."

The smoke is blasted away, as a painstakingly obnoxious buzzing floods your ears. The sound of gigantic insect wings buzzing. You look up, and see a creature that you have difficulty comprehending at first. The body is quite similar to a thinner, gigantic Komodo Dragon. It has a single tail nearly as long as the body, and just as thick at the base. The four legs are long and clawed sharply at the tip, and the head is broad and flat similar to a snakes. It roars, the four insectile wings on it's back vibrating the air in front of you. It's tongue is forked.

Dragonfly.

Kichiro scratches his chin. "Huh..? So, is it the four winged dragon fly? Or does the tail make it five? But, a tail isn't a wing, and wing's aren't tails...Is it the one tail?"

Ai looks at him blankly, not entertained. "I don't believe it matters, at the moment.

Panic starts to rise up inside of you. A legendary tailed beast?

There is a difference between intelligence and wisdom, anon. INT represents the amount of information you have stored in your head, such as the process of casting spells or the method for crafting tools. WIS is the stat that lets you know if doing something is a good idea or not.

A long lived dragon might know everything there is to know about human history, but that information alone won't be able to tell them if the particular example before them is actually a threat to their well being. It actually makes sense in this manner.

Think of it like this OP: You know plenty of folks have housecats, so who is to say that this particularly large and striped feline would make for a bad pet?

What is the best way to play an "evil" character in a "non evil" campaign.
My guess is to be "lawful evil", too loyal to the party to fuck around yet not be afraid to do what needs to be done for the party and the mission at hand.

I am working on a generic system that is meant to be rules lite but crunchy.

I am thinking of using a d12 mechanic. I know that is more "random" but I don't really like the predictability of 2d6. Plus 1d12 has the number handle stat plus skill well.

Stats will go -1 to +3, you get Vitality (basically hit points) equal to 10 plus Strength, or 5 plus strength for really lethal games. Average people have 5 plus Strength hp.

A dagger would deal 1d4
A one handed weapon deals 1d6
A two handed weapon deals 1d8

A pistol deals 1d8
A rifle or shotgun deals 1d10
A shotgun will give +1 to hit with buckshot, I liked that rule from savage worlds, but it was broken in SW in my opinion.

I'm planning to have as few modifiers as possible. My biggest concern is bookkeeping , especially for large battles. I'd use a toughness system, but pcs Ina lethal game would be either alive or dead, whereas a small number of hp would be lethal but at least there'd be detail beyond up or down like in Savage Worlds.

Basically I want a game that can handle heroic and gritty gameplay in the same system. Probably a doomed endeavor but i appreciate your ideas.

Are hit points a big drag in large battles? This system would be used for a zombies game fighting huge hordes as its first play test. I'd use savage worlds but characters are too durable, and the system is weird for zombie bits (like, if you get bitten, it has to do enough damage to shake you, even though any bite would infect)

What Im thinking for cybernetics is they give a flat enhancement bonus on top of that. So it becomes 1dw0+1dx+y. But thats only when its mint condition. As that limb takes wounds, it decreases in quality which confers two penalties. First, the flat bonus gets smaller. Second, you get demoted in skill rank when using that limb. Which cann scale all the way to a Master being Unskilled. With a plus 0.

But, those wounds would have crippled your meat limb

Also, limbs can be repaired and even overclocked by salvaging and tuning from salvaged limbs.

Thoughts?

I'd like to create a setting based on the same aesthetics as Warframe (sexy far-future space ninjas in symbiote armor) without the retarded actual Warframe lore.
