You are Captain SAMANTHA WELLINGS, a newly minted captain of the Centauri Accord!
Currently, you were looking through the camera feed of one of your scout drones as it watched a masked stranger casually tearing parts and components out of its comrade's chest cavity. The masked stranger then looked up to see the second bot and froze like a deer in the headlights.

The Recap (thanks to Scarab): http://pastebin.com/wMtuXJM2
You are Captain Anode, in for some sorely-needed repairs.
Emphasis on sorely. You get to experience the joy of having no arms for a few minutes as they examine the damage to your remaining limb and simply remove it, shoulder and all, to effect the repairs. Wren, perhaps unsurprisingly, cut deep. Your other arm is actually in better shape--taken straight off, it's mended and reattached before the one you came home with.
You have a lot of time on that bed to let your thoughts chase each other around--you opt instead to focus on upgrades, even comming Susan and talking about plans to kit out the squad a little further.
He's genuinely baffled when you mention some of the possibilities. "I'm not going to pretend dash systems wouldn't do us wonders in the field," he says, "but that is a whole hell of a lot of money to just give to four glorified mooks. Sir."
In the end, you make plans to start with some specialty gear--some shields and a slaved Lockon Hunter rifle--and sequester away about forty grand towards that. If you change your mind, you can always just take it back, but you doubt the team is going to have time to get familiar with their gear before they deploy with you next.
For yourself, you opt to upgrade your ailing Skippers--they never had an issue with speed, only damage, and now, with Wren's data, you've made a monster. The arguable weakest weapon in your toolkit has just becoming a contender for the strongest, with massive projected damage against any target vulnerable to wind, explosive, or shrapnel-based attacks. The ammo counter has been halved, but you're not entirely sure you care. You also replace your expended battery, and ask for some improved buster parts while your arms are in the shop--an enhanced compressor that will play hell with shield systems that would have scoffed at your cyclers before.

And good morning, everyone. Like I said on twitter, this'll be a bit of a slow thread. Lots to get through but no real hurry.
Work has been a demon lately, and will continue to be for the next six months. In the meantime, now that OP is up, I'm gonna knock out my daily routine and check back in shortly.
Why is the new Empire so diverse?
Aren't they evil space nazis?
>>47349769
Not really? Well, ok. Evil and Space, yeah.

I took it as radicalisation brought about by getting their asses kicked.
(This Quest will be using a hybrid blend of old 3.5 and Pathfinder rules as I see fit.)
You are a half-dragon from Darastrix Tolgalen: Dragon Island. Long before man, elf, or dwarf, dragons dominated the sky. Their many species squabbled like petty children until a champion of Io (the high god of dragons and basically creator of the world) known as Jennu Ir formed the Council of Wyrms. Through the Council a lasting peace was established for a majority of dragon kind. This peace has lasted for centuries. In fact, this would be the 8000th anniversary of the Council's founding. This celebration lasts a whole year and today marks the third month of Wer Tlushtow.

"So, she's more skilled than I gave her credit for" A calm voice whispered on the wind, sending dread down the spines of the five knights covered in desecrated and steaming armor, all sitting nervously on their steeds as coal black smoke rolled around them, almost seem "I assumed your two dead comrades were simply degraded...and weak, I see now there's a possibility I was wrong about that"
The air stopped as the smoke seemed to get sucked into a single spot in the air, and swirled around, almost seeming to make a vaguely human shape, staring down through the fields of the Toladarian plains.
"Well what are you dogs waiting for, we know her weakness, let us exploit it" the voice said with a giggle, that sounded like child whimpering in pain
_
I gasp in pain, waking up and feeling my eye burning like some one threw boiling coffee on my face. My chitin nails claw at it in panic, dipping into the silvery flames as I try to sit up. My fluff rubs against my exposed skin as I try to figure what's going on. And for one, very...very scary second, I feel as weak and tired as I always did in my old body, and my heart nearly leaps out of my chest as I bolt up right, my long mane of oh so fluffy hair catching on my arms and tangling them up as I panic and gasp for air, nearly ripping through the metal "cocoon" I sleep inside of.
And then, cold rushes up to meet me, as I finally manage to get a grasp on my surroundings, and finally see that my hands are still my "Own" for certain. I sigh, rubbing my eyes with the bottom of my palms as freezing, almost slimey sweat slowly drips and rolls down my face, making me feel gross as it touches the chitin on my cheeks.
"My queen?" Little green asks meakly, starring at me from the ceiling, his green eyes glowing dimly in the darkness of the "room" "is everything all right?"

I nod slowly, wiping my hand down my face the second I stop.
"I sensed distress in your mind, I was worried you had caught some sickness or another" its voice echos inside of my skull, bouncing around it for a second before he starts talking again "But if you're alright than my worries were for not...perhaps you had one of those odd dreams the brat and fossil have been talking about"
"Haaa" Thunder groans weakly "Must you torment and mock me all times of the day, you overgrown larva?"
"At least I stay true to myself, orange eyes" Little green hisses, as he scuttles away "Sorry my queen, if you have use of your steed, simply shout the name you gave me"
"Wha's going on...big red are you there?" Blue whimpers tiredly, as I see her stumble out of the little pile of blankets she burrowed under, trying to struggle free of them "I had a dream that wasn't pleasant at all...I was back in the swamp and, I don't know it just...felt wrong"
"Yeah, I'm here' I say, trying to sound calm as my heart beats and drums in my chest, I swear I can feel it hitting my ribs "that's normal, people get those from time to time"
"Well I don't like it...at all" Blue says angrily, snapping her jaws together angrily.
"Er....Krovy?" I hear Minor ask sheepishly, sounding like she's in the tunnel....hm strange she usually sleeps down here with us, why is she out there "Are you down there? I think they're testing those mirrors we found and...well I don't want to be left alone in case they end up trying them all at once and...take awhile to get back...ya..ya know? Krovy?"

You two turn to her at her closet, where she is currently putting on a formal looking dark green shirt dress along with pantyhose and a lighter brown cardigan. “Griselda, what’s the occasion?” asks Denise.
“I’m meeting with William Griffiths in the afternoon,” she says as she checks herself in the mirror. “He’s going to be overseeing the construction of a permanent race track for tank racing rather than the temporary ones we had for the festivals. Long term investment you know?”
“You talk to Gertrude about that?” you ask.
“Sure! She OK’d it,” she explains. “Plus, Griffiths is planning on a down payment of 50,000 dollars to the team, along with a regular weekly payment of 10,000 dollars!” She squeals a little happily. “Can you imagine that!?”
What could you do with that kind of money!?

As you see Jiya slowly and carefully help the giant creature into a container, you can't help but wonder... "What's going to happen to her?"
He turns and, while the suit makes him look like he's perpetually frowning, his voice is surprisingly optimistic. "She'll be released on an unpopulated world, a carefully guarded nature preserve where those like her won't be hunted and used for their eggs. Or, even worse, for sport."
...the thing managed to knock you into a ship so hard you left a dent in it, and some aliens hunt her kind for sport. Probably people like Freeza. It sounds like something he'd do. "Well... what about that guy?" you point to the person who was shouting at you to not kill the monster earlier.
"He will face justice soon enough. I need to make a report to HQ." Jiya comments, heading to his ship.
Chiaotzu watches him quietly for a moment, then speaks up. "Maple... got a question."
"Shoot."
He gives you an uncomfortable look. "You... are aware of just how the Ginyus operate, right? How a lot of the forces under Freeza operate?"

You are Adrian Brown, a twenty five year-old third-year medical student living an otherwise normal American life in search of employment. That was until you woke up inside a derelict and demon-infested hospital with four other victims of short-term memory loss. Together, the five of you managed to somehow survive by negotiating with demons and defeating those that were not so amicable. And upon escaping, the all of you realized that it wasn’t as simple as that.
Task Force 666 a multinational organization dedicated to combating hostile demons and those that would use them for ill intentions. And the hellhole you just went through? That was your ‘job interview’, one that you passed with flying colors. When properly offered employment as an agent among the ranks, you accepted without too much hesitation or second thoughts. Duty to humanity and whatnot.
You are now a Devil Summoner in the service of the Task Force, and the de-facto leader of East Coast Operations Division IV Carina Squad. It is your duty to protect mankind from all threats involving the demonic, but how you choose to carry out your orders is entirely up to you. The choices you make shall not only affect those around you, but the fate of the entire world itself…
>87, 96, 92
All three rounds of your burst strike the demon with violent force, perforating through its gelatinous like a hot knife through butter. Bits and glibs of the Black Ooze explode out of the holes your volley made, spattering all over the spriggan’s vegetables and fruit trees. You definitely struck something critical. With a gurgling wail, the viscous demon melts into the ground, unable to keep its body stable from the damage you inflicted upon it.
The sound of the spriggan’s delight at the new fertilizer contrasts sharply with High Pixie gagging behind you.
One down, four more (and possibly more, if the shaking ground was any indication), to go.
High Pixie’s wave of nausea seems to pass quickly. With a very audible gulp, she flies right up to you, perched on top of Gryphon with her cheeks puffed out to a ridiculous degree. Is she…is she holding her breath?
She waves her arms in some kind of pantomime. Signing towards you…pulling away. No, beckoning. Inviting. And then…who showed High Pixie Star Wars? Because all that gesture lacked was the sound effects of lightning and the voice of a demented old man.
Right. So, she wants orders. As does Gryphon, whose talons paw(?) the ground in eager anticipation for the hunt. It seems to have a stronger stomach than the Fairy perched atop its head. Because even with your experience in the dissecting labs and mortician’s office, the smell of splattered Black Ooze smells downright awful.

What did they do with the survivors of the Rangers anyway after that command was destroyed?
Or with those from Smithson's Chinese Bandits and the Broadsword Legion?
What's more important for an ideal hero, to be merciful, or to be just?
>>47341004
Both.
Finding the balance where he's both.
Mercy is for the harmless. It is the harmful with whom a hero must concern himself.
It is a clear, moonlight night, with a sky full of shining stars. The warmth of summer lingers in the evening air, preventing the need for heavy clothing and allowing your small group the luxury of spending some time beneath the deep blue blanket that shrouds the world. You stand stoically beside your daughter, Vanessa, dressed in her new black armor designed to match and compliment yours. On the opposite side of your massive body is Sophia, who holds in her arms the infant son born to the both of you not a week ago. He coos softly as he balls his tiny soft fists, peering up at the nocturnal lights twinkling above.
Duncan, Kyle, Gilbert, Caitlyn, and even Morgan join you. Were Legion not occupied holding the southern mountains against the myriad forces of Solaris, he might be among you as well.
Your wounds are nearly healed completely now, and the only thing preventing you from joining your thrall on the battlefield and routing the enemy once and for all is the desire to spend a few more moments amongst your children, one newly born and another recently returned. The three of you watch the stars shine on the eve of your return to the front, and it is on this night that you spy an omen. Ill or good, you cannot say. But before you, high in the moonlight sky, streaks a burning object, creating a trail in its wake. Your son watches it intently, chewing his fingers as it falls to earth. And the moment it finally burns out in the hot atmosphere above, you suddenly feel a sinking sensation in your chest.
Ray, your lifelong friend and companion, godfather to your daughter and savior of your ass on at least ten occasions, is dead.

Silently cry though.
Also nice to see ya again op.
You are Kusajishi Riku, Captain of the Seireitei Court Guard's Ninth Division. The human world has been invaded by an unprecedented number of gillians, hollows powerful enough that anyone below a Lieutenant can't handle one alone. With you are several more Captains and Lieutenant-level fighters along with their manifested zanpakuto, but even these fighters have their limits. If the gillians keep pouring through the breach in reality that's brought them here, it would be enough to wear anyone down eventually.
“You're the menos expert in the Gotei 13,” Hitsugaya pants, having just tanked the blast of a cero. “I'm open to suggestions.”
“What else?” you reply , drawing your own swords. “We kill 'em until we run out.”
“I was expecting something more complicated.”
You shrug. “Sometimes the best plan is not to overthink it.”
That being said this does present a serious problem, one that you haven't had to cope with in a long time: exhaustion. You managed to partially recover from your accelerated Ura Hadō training with your zanpakuto, which brought you to the brink of death, but the fight with hollow-Muramasa and your first actual usage of the new spell you learned have undone some of that. You can't be sure how much more sustained effort you can put in before the last few days truly start to catch up with you.
It would be best to end this as quickly as possible, with as little effort on your part as you can get away with, but your companions have been fighting nonstop for just as long as you have. Yoruichi's still good to go, and the efficiency of Mirai's zanpakuto means she's probably spent the least energy getting to this point out of everyone present. But even Hitsugaya, Suì Fēng, and Rangiku are showing some sign of strain. Hitsugaya apparently still struggles to maintain his immature Bankai for this long, and Little Bee isn't really cut out for this sort of protracted battle in the first place.
>1/2
>>47370110
As for Rangiku, using Haineko at the level she does requires significant focus and awareness: the mental strain must be terrible the longer a fight drags out. Her movements struck you as already being a bit sloppier than usual, probably due to the fact that she'd had to fight against a half-crazed Haineko before coming here.
Byakuya is the worst off by far. He's just concluded a fairly long duel against his fellow Kuchiki, whose skills in combat must have been taxing to the younger Byakuya if Muramasa's abilities are any appropriate indication.
He does his best to maintain that unflappable, aristocratic facade, but it's not working.
“The solution is simple,” he observes. “We can use our reiatsu to seal the rift.”
Hitsugaya shakes his head. “That will take time, and time is precisely what we won't have when we're being swarmed by that many menos.”
“I've been saving my strength,” Yoruichi informs you, “but odds are good I've only got enough left for one or the other.”
“No special tools that can seal that rift?” you ask hopefully.
She shakes her head. “Nope. The Ōin maybe, but it's a rare enough event that nobody's ever made a tool specifically to deal with it.”
“Then why not use this Ōin thing?” Hitsugaya protests. “If it can do the job...”
“The Ōin is something I refuse to use,” Yoruichi interrupts, a dark look in her eyes. “The day I used something like that would be my last as a shinigami.”
>Then we need to clear out the Menos.
>We need to focus on the rift.
>I may lose half my Division against this many Menos, but it's a risk we have to take.

Yo King!
With a mighty blow the humongous adjuchas was propelled towards the ceiling of the cavern system and then beyond.
His organs, muscles even the bones were liquefied by the insane amount of kinetic energy that was released by the punch.
As your muscles deflate and the built up, high pressure steam leaves your body you heave a couple of times before your system recovers.
While it was much better than last time, partly because now you cancelled Assault Mode normally, it still managed to take a toll on you.
Several of the muscles in your upper body either cramped or got damaged by the insanely taxing technique.
While you are still hunching forward the hollows who accompanied you stare upwards in disbelief.
"Holy shit..." one of them mutters.
As your head clears you look back at them and they stand at attention and they don't even dare to make a sound.
"sigh... At ease boys.
I'm not going to kill you or anything."
They start to relax after you say that, clearly you managed to scare the piss out of them.
"S-sorry boss.
I've just never seen you in action from so close before."
"It's alright.
This was a bit of a unique thing anyway.
Also, don't call me boss.
Kaizar is just fine."
"R-right...
So what do we do now?"
You look over your handiwork once more now that you are more collected.
It seems that your increased bodyheat managed to purge most of the alcohol from your system.
The sight is quite gruesome, a couple hollow corpses completely eviscerated while a few others had been disintegrated from the waist up.
You still remember what you did, you weren't that drunk but these results are still surprising.
It seems you really didn't pull your punches this time.
You scratch the back of your head and sigh a little.
"We gather whatever is left of these poor bastards and take it home.
At least they'll make good fertilizer."
"Roger!"
They speak up in unison.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jsbkku1b0kA
As you and your entourage are on your way home you notice that something is a bit off as you are getting closer.
You can hear the usual commotion but this time it's much louder and more concentrated than before.
"What in the...
Those... bastards..."
"What's wrong Kaizar?"
"MY BARRELS!"
You pick up the pace and leave your comrades behind in a huge dustcloud as you use sonido to arrive at the location.
When you arrive your suspicions were confirmed, apparently someone snuck in and nicked your precious storage of alcohol.
In a large crowd that probably contains every hollow in the forest you can see Neliel currently armwrestling some poor idiot who dared to challenge her.
When Pesche gives the signal for them to begin Neliel defeats her opponent immediately whom afterwards tumbles several times before knocking over several other hollows.
She gives off a hearty laughter and starts to make fun of the poor adjuchas for losing to a woman.
And just so happens that they used one of the emptied barrels as the place for their little contest.
You almost drop the bits of hollow flesh that you were carrying when you see Neliel chugging straight from a barrel after her victory.
Pesci comes to you already embarrassed.
"Sorry Boss but I couldn't keep them out of your larder."
But as he spoke you could smell the alcohol in his breath.
After sniffing a few times you simply turn around and haunch forward, depressed.
"It's okay...
I'll just go and kill myself..."
Pesci freezes and begins begging you to not say such silly things.
"C-come now Boss!
I-I promise I'll make some more for you!
I'll make it up to you, I promise!"
But you simply keep up your little performance.
"What's the point?
My best friend just betrayed me like that.
There's no point in keeping this up anymore, I'll go and hang myself with my own mucus!"
But as you are about to head off Neliel sneaks up on you and puts you in a headlock.
"Coome on Kaizar!~
Doon't be such a party pooper!"
It's clear that she drank waaay too much.
In fact, you are so used to her being always serious that seeing her carefree like that is scary.
But at least she is clearly enjoying herself.
But as you struggle to breathe under her arm you manage to gargle some words.
"P-party pooper?
Those are some serious accusations coming from Ms Ice-queen of all people!"
"What did you say?"
She responds as she tightens her hold on you.
This time it's too much and you stop breathing while she makes it even tighter until a loud cracking noise can be heard.
You go limp for a moment and you can feel your soul escaping your body.
When she sees this she grabs your shoulders and starts shaking you violently.
"KAIZAR!!
NO WAY!
WAKE UP!"
Meanwhile Pesci desperately tries to calm her down.
"Lady Neliel, please stop!
You are killing him!"
After he manages to wrestle Neliel off of you she goes back to party with the others while you are making sure she didn't do any real damage.
Pesci is sitting next to you as you keep trying to move your stiff neck around.
"Again, sorry Boss."
"It's alright Pesci.
It was made to be drunk but next time ask before you take all of my stuff!"
"Okay..."
When your neck is in working order once more your boys arrive and start asking you if they can join the others.
"Sure go ahead.
But drop these off at Yatas place before you do, okay?"
"Okay..."
They speak in unison.
But as you are about to join the fun yourself you notice Alex sitting away from the others.
If you had to guess she is probably pouting under her mask since she is sitting with her arms crossed.
You sigh a little as you decide to check up on her.
"Not enjoying the party?"
"That meanie Pesci told me I'm not old enough to drink.
I'm a ghost for fucks sake!"
"To be fair he probably didn't let you because otherwise I'd have kicked his ass..."
"Then fuck you too!"
She's a hopeless case...
What will you do now?
>Try to enjoy the festivity while it lasts.
>"Hey Alex, let's go for walkies!" (visit Asher)
>Find the culprits who took your booze and punish them.
>Other? (write-in)
