OK thoughts on Draisait/Reichsaitl.
Draisaitl was primarily responsible for Ebs' OT goal. Leon was balls deep in the play that developed in the offensive zone, and then he managed a steal and a very aware pass as he saw eberle absolutely open in the high slot.
He's only 6'1 215 but he's got an imposing stature. Seeing him play in person last night, I could have sworn that he was 6'3.
He is very dominant on the puck and plays very good two way, especially behind the net. He shys away from bonafide hits but can really expand his body into an opponent's forearms that really fucks with puck carriers in a legal way. He was especially effective in a couple situations where puck carriers tried to buttonhook and he stuck on with no problem, harassing without taking penalties.
The missing piece to draisaitl's play was foot speed and whatever the fuck he did in the offseason totally fixed it. He's fast in a line and quite agile while displaying a good amount of grit. He has pretty good hands and crossed up a lot of defenders last night.
IMO he's like a taylor hall with slightly better skating and a measure of restraint.
