All sports are technically pointless. They don't produce any tangible goods or services. It's people playing a game and people watching them play that game.
They do have a value though, entertainment. If people watch it and are entertained, and are willing to pay enough money to sustain it at a professional level, it's not pointless. Just because you individually don't watch out like the sport doesn't mean it's not valid. Get over yourself.
I don't find soccer entertaining, but me calling it pointless would be stupid because billions of people disagree with me.
