I recently became a Christian, after having been an atheist for virtually all my life. I've yet to be baptized because I'm having trouble deciding which church to join.
At first I wanted to join the Orthodox Church, because it seems the closest to the original church.
However, the Roman Catholic Church seems to have a theology that is much more advanced, although I disagree with some of their dogma (such as original sin and not allowing priests to marry, which was never an issue before the Middle Ages).
At first I thought I absolutely wanted to stay away from Protestantism, but as I've read into that, Lutheranism has attracted me. It has a lot of the things about Orthodoxy and Catholicism that I like (such as allowing the veneration of saints, feast days, more "traditional" liturgy, etc) without some of the silly or downright batshit insane things (like the Pope being the supreme "king" of the Church).
And then after that, I looked at Presbyterianism and it really appealed to the "spiritual" side of me. Pure and simple worship of Christ without any problems of church politics or complicated and sometimes seemingly pointless rituals.
