I'm visiting my niece and nephew in about a week and a half and my brother asked me to make them mixtapes because he knows I'm a music guy. I've done this once before and they seemed to like it a lot so I'm happy to introduce them to new stuff. The girl is about 12 and the boy is about 10. Here's what I picked out for them

you may be right
I would switch the Pixies song to Here Comes Your Man or La La Love You. Also I feel like Yo La Tengo could be nice for younger listeners, Sugarcube or Autumn Sweater maybe.
What are some of your favorite live performances, /mu/?

You haven't lived 'till you've heard this.

These guys are amazing live. I saw them live in college and actually bought tickets to see them with a friend like two states away. That's how good they were.
Lead singer is hilarious too. Best concert I've ever been to.

Filthy Frank aka George (joji) Miller actually makes nice music believe it or not https://youtu.be/frGbGBKDhaI

Even his popular content isn't even really bad, just often times filled with intended comedy so it's not as good for listening. This was a good track though, would like an album with this kind of vibe.
>>66044269
it's okay but it just feels like it's layered all wrong.
Some other stuff he's done

Millions is good, but TNT is the better one.
>>66044216
i think is one of that albums that when you discover you love it, but is music that has due date
but, enjoy it while you love it.
I'm a big early electronic/sound art fanboy. Whenever someone tells me to listen to a work identified as "noise," it generally falls into one of three camps:
1) Something that should have been labelled as something else (usually EDM, ambient or trance)
2) Uninteresting 40 minutes of a guy hitting a guitar/dated sounding white noise, blips and samples with no discernable form, grammar or goal
3) Experimental stuff (e.g. Ryoji Ikeda) that someone thought was noise.
Is noise just a phony attempt to market depthless pretension to a mass audience?

Is *some* noise just a phony attempt to market depthless pretension to a (small) audience?
yeah

What's good noise, then?

kevin drumm, sickness, pedestrian deposit all immediately stand out
What went wrong?
Not bad by any means. I wouldn't say anything went wrong, nothing went too spectacularly.

Nothing. Vampire Weekend has a perfect discography, but sadly they aren't releasing good new material, after Rostam Batmanglij left the band
Let's get one of these going. Post demos and incomplete stuff you've been working on. Remember to provide feedback to keep the thread going. I'll start. https://clyp.it/5zwlyv3v

Why do we have these at such strange times?
I posted this last thread, but I'll post it again. It's nott a finished song or anything, just an idea that I might expand upon

Also a quick riff that I'm writing a song around right now
