I'm visiting my niece and nephew in about a week and a half and my brother asked me to make them mixtapes because he knows I'm a music guy. I've done this once before and they seemed to like it a lot so I'm happy to introduce them to new stuff. The girl is about 12 and the boy is about 10. Here's what I picked out for them

These guys are amazing live. I saw them live in college and actually bought tickets to see them with a friend like two states away. That's how good they were.

I'm a big early electronic/sound art fanboy. Whenever someone tells me to listen to a work identified as "noise," it generally falls into one of three camps:
1) Something that should have been labelled as something else (usually EDM, ambient or trance)
2) Uninteresting 40 minutes of a guy hitting a guitar/dated sounding white noise, blips and samples with no discernable form, grammar or goal
3) Experimental stuff (e.g. Ryoji Ikeda) that someone thought was noise.
