I am mentally healthy in all other aspects.
Here's the thing - im preeety confident that my father (the only parent I live with) will be accepting and really want to help me. Trouble is, I have a lot of siblings and, even though we get by real well, I know that we don't have thousands to dish out just to make me feel better. So, I guess what i'm wondering is, how much is HRT going to cost, monthly? Will insurance pay for any of this? Do I absolutely need to be doing this through my parents, or can I pay for hormones through my own income?

depends greatly where you are and what your insurance is like, though in general I think hormones have a relatively reasonable price. I pay $20/month for all of mine.
