Sigs. That long trigger pull has always bugged me. Is it designed so that you always have the slack taken-up? Does a SEAL walk around with his trigger half-pulled all the time when in combat? I started to imagine it like a clutch lever almost- something you keep tension on. Am I over thinking this? I've never fired another pistol like it.

I'll school you since I too was confused as fuck and the p228 was my first gun I ever shot and I know how confusing it is.

It's specifically designed to be carried with a round in the chamber. The heavy Double Action pull is meant to be at ~10-11lbs so you don't accidentally discharge it because its so heavy that you need to make a concious effort to pull it.

After that, every other shot is a crisp and light 4lb Single Action pull. There's guns like the 1911 that are Single Action Only (SAO) but instead of a Double Action pull, it uses a manual safety instead.

And yes, seals and everyone else train on the DA to SA transition. The sig's Double Action is actually very smooth for a DA trigger pull. It's one of the best DA/SA production guns you can get really. I've practiced enough with my p226 where the DA isn't a problem at all.

It seems most people that carry a concealed handgun on a daily basis opt for some compact or even a pocket pistol. How cumbersome is a full sized service handgun? I carry a K-frame with a four inch barrel on my waste in all seasons. This is saying something, as I live in the Mojave desert, and daily highs north of 105 degrees are par for the course. Summer wear is typically baggy cargo shorts, a wife beater, and a short sleeve button up (I find that colorfully patterned Hawaiian shirts do well to break up the outline of any object one might have underneath). I don't find my gun to be overly difficult to carry, and I have never left it at home due to discomfort or weather. I'd like to know if full sized handguns are really difficult for most people, or is it just a matter of laziness?

Full disclosure, I'm a 6'1" 200lb male, so my dimensions may skew my view on this issue.

I'll be expelled if I'm discovered to be carrying. A single-stack 9mm makes sense until I graduate. (It's legal in my state, before the swarm of noguns start calling me an idiot criminal)

Not every person's situation is the same as yours OP, that's why they make different kinds of guns.

Any recommendations?

A general budget would probably help.

I hear many good things about the Howa 1500/Weatherby Vanguard series, and have been planning on picking one up at some point. It's reliable, light, and cheap.

Let's be serious for a minute.
How many former SF/Force Recon/SEAL/Rangers live in a sub $50,000 bracket after they leave the military?

Pic related was supposedly a former SF guy living in crack houses. I doubt the military would leave a member of SOF in that bad a shape.

You'd be surprised how little the military cares for people after they separate

The only time they ever contact former service is if you owe them money

So I still need my line conditioner but aside from that I am finally ready to start reloading. I plan on starting out with .308 then moving to other rifle cartridges, specifically .338 lm.

Does anyone have any advice or loads to share?

Also reloading general.

Houthis keep on destroying Saudi Abrams tanks. If they continue like this, Saudis will need to order another 100 ASAP.

>A federal judge on Thursday denied Lockheed Martin's motion that could have forced Oshkosh Corp. to stop working on a $6.7 billion military contract while a lawsuit over that contract award continues.
>Oshkosh Corp.’s JLTV outpaced both Lockheed and AM General in reliability tests, logging 7,051 “Mean Miles between Operational Failure,” compared to the Humvee’s 2,968 miles. Lockheed posted 1,271 miles, while AM General demonstrated 526 miles – both performing worse than the Humvee.

Yes. big boy lockheed upset they lost out on a contract to someone smaller when they thought they had it in the bag from the start just because of who they are.

Is it possible for me to get treatment for my severe depression and anxiety without losing one of the very few things I love in life?

Talk to a therapist and never mention that you own guns. See how it goes and try as hard as you can not to accept any medications (that's how they get you).
>>
>>28906055
You have to be involuntarily committed to lose your guns I think.

>t. suffer from treatment-resistant depression, ocd, and anxiety, take meds, own long guns (no handguns) and keep ammo at local range
