>Russian armored units based on the Armata Universal Combat Platform will get new upgraded active protection systems by the end of the year.
>The new ultraviolet (UV) detectors soon to be installed on T-14 Armata battle tanks and T-15 Armata heavy infantry fighting vehicles (IFV) can detect rockets and grenades approaching from any direction, thus drastically improving the vehicles’ active protection systems' efficiency.
From Izvestia, a world renowned source of factual information.

AHAHAHAHA Armata fags BTFO.

What it means is that Armata prototype has problems.

Armata is the F-35 of Russia.
>>
>>29275582
So it's actually a good tank and people are nitpicking stupid shit that always comes with development and can be fixed?
>>
>>29275627
Airforce F-35 won't even be operationally ready until post 2020.

That is a big fucking failure no matter which way you cut it.

For Armata we have yet to see. Mass production was only recently sanctioned.

So would the Klingon bat'leth actually make for an effective weapon?

Yes, you should use it for home defense.

I was thinking more like if you pitted someone wielding a broadsword like pic related against someone wielding a bat'leth would the bat'leth be an effect melee weapon or are bat'leths something that wouldn't actually be effect in real life combat?
>>
>>29275420

A broadsword has a much much greater reach than a bat'leth, which means that for most of the fight the guy with the bat'leth wouldn't be able to do anything but block strikes.
Keep in mind that the bat'leth wasn't designed with effectiveness in mind, it was created to be an unusual and intimidating weapon wielded by an intimidating species of warriors. It's not very practical at all though.

Question:

What would California look like if they had Arizona gun laws? Would it be a better place?
71 posts and 10 images submitted.
>>
The presence of conservative gun laws would absolutely drive out any liberals from the state, and they would all migrate to other capitals around the nation like Colorado and Washington. CA would become what Texas is today, a frontier for any booming businesses free of arbitrary regulations.

But nope instead we get fucking hippie garbage.
>>
CA could be one of the best states. the majority of its problems are from all the shitty laws and regulations. Today the inhabitants are free-spirited but they're not free.

Why does the Navy use commercial airliners for this role? The P-8 is basically just a 737, and the P-3 it is replacing was an airliner as well.

Is it just a neglected aspect of the navy where they are cutting corners, or are these airplanes genuinely well suited to the job?

The air-frame isn't special. It's the stuff that is inside that makes it special.

Well boys, I'm pretty sure I found the gun I want to carry everyday when I can buy a handgun in 3 months.
>pic related

I'm pretty sure .380 will be enough for self-defense. Probably going to roll with Federal 90gr Hydra-Shok JHP.
This weapon being as small as it is, I'll be able to carry it every single day comfortably regardless of attire. Retails at only $250, it's even small enough to pocket carry without printing if you're into that.

Get the LC9 so you don't a faggot.
>>
>>29273446
But the LC9 nearly twice as big and it's twice the price.
>>
>>29273425

I have a custom LCP (pic related) its awesome and I love it.

I opted for this one vs your pic, yea that one has raised sights (con for me) and allegedly a nicer trigger (stock trigger is fine for up close).

IMO if you cannot shoot well with the stock trigger and sights you need to practice with them. I am sure that enhanced version is better at the range but really the stock sights and trigger works fine.

I love my LCP, I pocket carry it in a galco holster and its a blast at the range, literally. The thing has more punch than my Glock 21 or 92FS what with its light weight.

I agree that 9mm Browning (.380) should be sufficient for a SD round.

A few months ago I posted a video on a simple and cheap self defense tool you can use if a firearm is not an option. A few weeks ago I got a chance to use it.

https://youtu.be/r5YzsHKt-GU

I was at the Donkin Reserve in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. It's a large park and public art area that overlooks the bay and is nice as the sun goes down. I was up there taking some pictures of the little sculptures that were installed on the longboard path. I was below the lighthouse and out of view of most people. I noticed some little bushmen came out from under a bush and was walking towards me. So I turned and made two path changes that should have shook him off. Using my phone I shot two backwards photos to see what this dude was doing. He was following me and getting closer. Now it was clear that I was going to get robbed. I put my phone in my pocket and pull out the sinker line, which is now bright red from tool dip. I stopped, let it dangle for a bit and gave it three good swings. The bushman stopped, instantly. I looked at him, he looked and me. He was about 10 yards away. He took three steps back and said something in Xhosa, a south african language that sounds like clicking mixed with word, and started heading back to his bush.

I got the hell out of there. I didn't get robbed, and I didn't need to crack some bushmen's head open.

The best thing you can do for self defense is to pay attention to your surroundings and have some sort of defensive tool at the ready.

I would not do so well in a South African Prison. He thought I would be as easy target for a few rand and maybe a cell phone. That didn't work out like he planned.

Hey /k/, can you show me how you carry your EDC pistol? I picked up a USP9c with a flush magazine, 1/2" Beltman belt, and a Cloak Tuck 3.0 but I'm still getting used to carrying and want to be sure I'm doing it right.

I ask because I can't move around much without the fabric of my shirt getting caught on or generally printing around the handle. It's rather frustrating, I'm 5'6" 170lb, I should be able to conceal a compact without a super baggy shirt.
>>
Do you live in a state where it's illegal to OC?

If not, then don't worry about printing so much, it's gonna happen on anything but a mouse gun.
>>
>>29272311
FL doesn't permit OC. I don't mind a little bit of uneven fabric but instead my shirt will find a way to wrap itself around the handle like gift wrap.

17 or 19?

Which do you pick? Neither really qualify as concealable.

>>29270944

G19 is concealable if you're average height man, and G17 if you're a big guy, even in a tee-shirt

I prefer the 19 because it's concealable for me and the grip fits my hand perfectly, with only the floor plate sticking out slightly

>>29271143

>>
>>29270944

either.

difference in capacity is only 2 rounds, some people find the 19 more comfy to shoot, others the 17.

>19 not concealable.

bullshit. I'm 6' and 170lbs, I wear fitted but not super tight clothes and I conceal it fine.

There's nothing truthful about that.

Have a chance to buy a kimber custom II from a coworker he said the gun is perfect and he's only shot 250 rounds threw it he's asking 700
Is this a good price? Are they any good? Quick Google search says the gun goes for 1400 new
Guess he's getting rid of it because his ex gave it to him and he just do sent want it anymore
