Looking at this for a camp carry. Thoughts K?
Recommended by a friend, positives opinions at the range, the after market is endless, especially for you in the US. I am going to buy one in some months (I need paperwork for semi autos)

It's great. I have mine set up with a cheap red dot and a side folder stock. The lockup is tight and it holds zero with no problems. It's a normal 10-22 in all regards but with the bonus of fitting in a backpack.
Mine came with the standard berreta 96 brigadier inox as a factory accessory

I carry a p-09 at 2-30 to 3, and it doesn't print at all.

Appendix prints the least, but you have to wear your pants at or above your hips and it helps to not have a gut.
When I can get away with wearing a coat or a longer/thicker flannel I CC a Browning Hi PowerOWB at around 3:30-4:00 in a nice leather holster.
When it's hotter out I don't even bother carrying the BHP and go with something smaller because I can't CC the BHP with just a tshirt or a thinner long sleeve shirt.
The BHP is easy to CC because of how thin it is, and I'd imagine a 1911 would be just as easy if not easier because it's even thinner. Just get a quality holster and quality belt and weight won't be an issue.
What do you guys think about S&W branching out beyond firearms to the "rugged outdoors" market.
I personally fear that the more crap they produce just takes away from their focus on quality firearms. Say what you will about the M&P, but they are pretty nice, especially for their price, and their revolvers kick ass.
But I cringe when I see stuff like a S&W branded "tacticool knife," and the thought of them making outdoor gear just sounds to me like Coleman tier crap priced higher because of the brand name.

Recently, I bought babby's first shotgun. I ended up getting a Browning BPS 12 gauge smooth bore, but I haven't had the chance to shoot it. The one thing about it that confuses me is pic related: I have no idea what this does.
It's not the primary safety, but it seems to affect the metal fork thing that lifts loaded shells and ejects spent shells by keeping it in a lifted position. Is this another safety that essentially makes it single fire, or does it do something else?

It most likely is so you can eject the shells easier. And for you won't chamber a round accidently
