They are sufficient alone, though I much prefer well fitted in-ear plugs like surefires rather than the uncomfortable foam plugs. The Surefires tend (by model) to be rated higher as well.
When is the next minnesota meetup? I had a good time last summer and remembered a ton of hype threads by now.

Would the US adoption of the 276 Pederson been a good idea during WW2? 276Garands, BARs, and other rifles would have been much more controllable vs the 30-06. The 308 would have never been developed and the 223 would have been delayes. And yes i did watch the Forgotten Weapons video.

I need some help /k/, im a first time buyer of and AR build and im not sure where to start, i have a really good idea of what i want in the rifle but i don't know where to get it. i figured id get some controversy here on this site about that but after the pain it was keeping the m16 clean in BCT and then learning about piston systems, i really like the concept.
i understand it does not remove the carbon build up it just build up somewhere else and i think that in the gas block is a much more manageable place to clean, just my personal opinion
plus it really dosnt add any real negatives to over all performance and any downsides that it has i feel like its more then worth for...

So everyone does things like mud tests and sand tests but what's some stuff you want to see done as reliability/durability tests that hasn't been done much or at all?
I'd love to see a test of just leaving a gun out in the woods and seeing how long it can sit there before it stops working.
