Alright, guys. Had an incident at my place of work today, tell me if I fucked up.
>be shift manager
>be at register
>hear a ruckus outside
>ohdear.mkv
>there are two guys in the road outside of their cars, screaming at one another
>walk to my car to get phone, figure I'll call the owner of the store and maybe law enforcement should things escalate.
>infuriated citizens decide to take their road rage into store parking lot
>they pull into the lot and one gets out of his vehicle, still yelling obscenities at one another
>they're scaring the customers, dammit
>next to my vehicle at this point
>holler at them to calm down or leave b/c they're interfering with business
>man that was still in car gets out and storms toward me, fists raised and hurling obscenities about my parentage
>open back door and grab rifle from under the seat, tell him to calm down or leave
>he asks if I'm going to shoot him, rather mockingly
>lay rifle down in seat and say that he hasn't given me a reason yet
>he walks up, gets in my face asks me what I'm gonna do
>sternum 2 sternum, faces 2 inches away
>ask him if he wants a kiss
>he storms off, decks another employee (who had come out and phoned the cops) for no apparent reason, jumps in his car and peels out
>other dude was a bro, stayed to help me file report with the PD.
The rest is irrelevant. Hell, most of that was probably irrelevant.
Anyway the question is this: was I within my right to grab my rifle as he was coming at me, even though we were on private property (parking lot)? Texasfag, BTW, so SYG and Castle laws exist.
>>30185508
Yeah. I know in Oklahoma you have the right to use legal force against someone who attempts to remove you from your vehicle. Castle doctrine also applies to any public place where you have a right to be so imagine that would include stores.
>>30185594
My line of thinking was that as the senior employee present, I have some kind of right to protect the establishment. Failing that, I feel like I have the right to defend myself even if I wasn't in my car, only next to it.
I don't think it could be counted as brandishing, because I never put my hand on the trigger and the gun never technically left the vehicle, but there is a good chance that the police will follow through (ran the guys plates and he is a repeat offender for public intoxication and assault) and somehow I feel like I'll get nailed with something .
>>30185508
>he asks if I'm going to shoot him, rather mockingly
Should have just shot him.
Is the US military prepared for an alien invasion?
Fuck no.
>>30185211
Do they still have any torpedo rams and just a handful of men?
Likely already happened. It was probably subtle.
Maybe don't worry. The bros are on it, or perhaps in on it.
Shit might get bad, or eventually mega-sweet.
Budgety but Good 9mm Full sized handguns?
M&P 9: - ~$420 shipped.
Steyr M9-a1: ~$460 shipped.
I'm not really looking at shit-tier brands that go under $400.
Am I missing any other that's under ~$500 but good/reputable handguns?
>horrors of war pic not related
nobody cares faggot OP, now explain the pic dipshit
>>30185175
Wtf am I looking at here? A bloody midget?
Look at used guns.
Most of the time there are good deals to be had from stupid people.
T4R. I want a lever action but Marlin got cancer, decent Winchesters are too expensive and I'll shoot myself before I buy a gun with something as retarded as Henry's tube magazine.
Whoops used a pic of the wrong gun
>>30185164
What kinda loading system does this gun have if not the tube system?
>>30185220
It uses a tube mag with a loading gate next to the action.
Henry's magazines use a bass-ackwards system where you slide the inside of the tube out of the gun, drop in the bullets, and slide it back.
What's the most brutal war footage you have? Any time period, the more brutal the better. Points for most terrifying.
Bump for interest.
>>30185082
the fucking jews did this
is selling your guns for other guns/things taboo on /k/? Should you NEVER sell guns? also if you have, what have you sold and used the money for?
general gun selling story thread I guess
I have sold 4 and I don't regret selling any of them. The $ has gone towards other ones. I have learned what I like and what I don't in the process. I've sold a Ruger Match Champion 357, an SKS, an AR-10, and a benelli nova pump. I'm about to sell two AR15's.
Sold my 6920 for an sr-15 no regrets
>>30184895
I sold two. a S&W 681 after deciding I had enough S&W .357s and I wasn't a fan of stainless steel, and an HK P9S I bought on my very long search for a 9mm pistol I'd actually like
I don't regret either but the P9S was nifty. maybe if I'd figured out how to reduce the trigger overtravel and smooth out the safety and get some wood grips it would have been a keeper, but I like the nines I ended up with much better anyway.
How high-maintenance is carbon steel?
Do I have to be super-autistic in keeping it clean, or can I just wipe it after use and it'll be fine?
Just give it a patina and you'll be good to go.
>>30184777
Depends entirely on where you live.
> >50% humidity
Don't bother unless you want to keep it oiled all the time.
> <50%
Keep it clean. It'll spot unless you're autistic about keeping it clean but it won't rust unless you outright neglect it.
>>30184777
I have an opinel I use as a paring knife every single day and I live about 200ft from the ocean. I dont treat it any differently than any other kitchen knife. Dont leave it underwater, clean it immediately after use, dont spray it with oven cleaner . . .

I'm going to be cheeki breekin into an abandoned building, I want to bring a firearm to protect muhself, unfortunately being that I'm young and broke I only have some youth rifles at my disposal, 20 guage 870 pistol grip (bullet belt that holds about 25 shells) or m&p 15-22 with two magazines, the factory 25 and a aftermarket 35 round magazine.
pls no tell fbi
>>30184764
I'm going to be watching this thread to see how retarded you are op
Don't bring a firearms or actual weapon if any type. Bring something like a mag lite which to can pass off as a tool. This way if you do beat the shit out of someone you can actually not have every facto r against you. Bring a cheap camera or something to so you can cover as a photographer.
>you hear a bump in the night
What's next to YOUR bed /k/?
A nugget under my bed
Hope I don't miss and they're all standing in a straight line
Got my 8mm mauser, sks and m4 as well as some knives.

A Remington R1 Enhanced with Ed Brown Tritium night sights, a wolff 16# recoil spring, Wilson Combat short length trigger, arched MSH, and an oversized firing pin stop.
Loaded with 8+1 of 230 grn +p flat points by Buffalo Bore.
am going to try my hand at hunting upland birds this year. don't own a shot gun though. i know you'll probably scoff but i am kind of digging the Winchester sxp right now. most recommendations i hear is "get a mossberg or an 870" but i tried all 3 and a few others and for me its a toss up for the benneli nova and the sxp black shadow... super edgy name. the Winchester felt more well put together but made of cheaper materials. at 200 less than the benneli what do you think i should do ?
> inb4 590 with bayonet
>>30184684
You should look into a stoeger. They are cheap but a damn good gun. I think they are a sub brand of benelli, so there is a quality reputation to back it up.
>>30184743
thanks for the tip will check them out.
i'd have gotten the Winchester but am iffy bout their build quality and customer service.
>>30184832
The SXP is actually made in Turkey, but is generally a fine shotgun. The design is the same as the FN P-12, but with a more general focus on sporting use. FN owns Winchester, well Repeating Arms anyway.
What do you have against the USMC?
They lack wheeled transport. Phrogs and LVTPs are too expensive for my taste. But altogether with navy seals and delta force they make nice combos to sweep towns. Probaly my favorite US unit anyway.
>>30184625
There is zero reason to a have a second, angrier version of the army.
Cocky retards. They serve no other purpose than cannon fodder. Dumbest soldiers I've ever seen to be honest.
>inb4 they're MUHREENS not soldiers
Hey /K/ I was wondering what would be a good lever action rifle to get my step dad for father's day. He's a fairly big fan of "cowboy" guns and I wanted to surprise him with this. Pic unrelated
>>30184582
Henry golden boy. Pretty, cheap to shoot, and buttery smooth action.
>>30184628
Thank you, I also saw that henry has one called "the big boy" is that just the same as the golden boy but upped to .357 and 44.
>>30184675
They are great too. I personally prefer the 22lr though. 44mag is way too expensive, but the 357 isn't too bad if you use 38s.

What are some cool guys school to go to in the army?
Already airborne and air assault. What's another school I can request?Thinking about pathfinder/mountain warfare then Ranger.
Ultimate goal is SFAS, but want to learn a lot before hand.
Hey knifebros. I need a new pocket knife. I had a Gerber paraframe for the last several years that I finally lost. I know nothing about steel qualities or hardnesses but I know alot of you guys know your shit. My list of preferences are as follows.
1. Length of blade needs to be 3 to 4.5 inches
2 Edge retention should be be as good as possible related to price point
3. Assisted open is a plus but not if it comes with some of the retarded convoluted button, lever, switch combos I've seen on Buck knives of late.
I appreciate it /k/nifebros.
Stop worrying about this best/worst shit, especially in that price range. If you just need a general purpose folding knife, go to the sporting goods store and buy one that is comfortable. Sharpen it when it gets dull. Replace it when it breaks or more likely if you actually use them regularly, it gets lost. Don't overthink the simple shit.
>>30184277
Don't hate on my suggestion: use lanyards on pocket knives? Why don't knife makers put bails (retention loops) on every knife made? I use an ID lanyard w/clip to secure my knives. I miss my Gerber assisted-open -- lost because unsecured!
>>30185319
I looked at some reviews did a little independent research and settled on getting a couple to see how they do. One was a Schrade with a 9cr18 blade and the other was a Sanrenmu with a 8cr13. If I screwed up let me know it's not too late to cancel.
