Potentially important question /k/
How does one keep their weapon rust free from prolonged exposure to the elements?
I went on survival camp out with an airforce buddy of mine a during the late winter months this year and it rained, snowed, hailed, then rained and snowed at the same time a lot harder than we originally anticipated it would. In my bug out bag is keep a 10/22 takedown which spent the majority of the three days we were in the woods under the cover of our lean to and out of the elements in my pack. While we were hiking it lived in my pack with a rain cover over it. However when I got home and opened my pack my rifle was covered in rust.
This annoyed me on a number of levels as I always wipe my guns down with oil wipes before taking them out for an outing and again before I put them back in the safe- a habit I've gotten into to combat the bad moisture problem is have in my appartment.
Since the incident the rifle has been cared for properly with the rust removed and recoated, but I have to ask, how do you keep your gats from rusting from prolonged exposure to the elements? I live in the PNW which is really the only reason it matters

Here's the story.

Canada's army didn't want to look like the American army anymore, so they decided to design their own camouflage. It was a good camouflage. They called it CADPAT.

The US Marines also didn't want to look like the US army anymore, so they said
>Hey Canadabros, can we look at the work you did on CADPAT? We think it's the tits!
And Canadabros said
>Oh you like our camouflage, eh? Sure! Just don't copy it directly, make it slightly different.

So the Marines took CADPAT and made some modifications, like changing the palette to work in places Marines are apt to find themselves like deserts, added little EagleGlobeAnchor doodads so they could copyright it or trademark it or whichever one applies. They called it MARPAT.

Now the Army was feeling left out. But instead of asking the Canadians or the Marines if they could could borrow the previous work, or just doing their own original work, they just stole the patterns. To try to trick everyone into think it's not stolen work they had to make it unrecognizable somehow. They decided to try a single palette for every environment. This is dumb, but they tried it anyway.

When they tested their new monstrosity it tested the worst out of everything they tried. But it would be too embarrassing to admit they stole a pattern, fucked it up, and made the worst camouflage in the world. So they adopted it and sent people to fight two desert wars in blue uniforms.

Hooah! Army Strong!

Could Warhammer 40k Weapons/Armours/Vehicles be effective today? Where not going to count the Tau, Any Xeno or Daemons. Only Imperium Of Man and Chapters of the Astartes. Also where not counting Magic, Sourcery, or the Primarchs.

If they were supported by a naval attachment you could probably conquer a couple previous super powers. and enforce a hellish regime.

I always wondered this too. For example the Death Korps Of Kreig probably have the most realistc of modern day tools besides the basic Imperial guards as their armour is heavily German WWI and WWII based. Which again makes is extremly effective. But in terms of modern day. Even 100,000 Death Crops probably couldnt even beat the United States Armed Forces

You mean would they work with today's technology or would they work against today's technology? The answer is no in either case anyway.

Auto Ordnance was one of the companies contracted to make the originals. fyi

But internally, nothing except for semi auto compliance and compliance for barrel length and overall length

IIRC, it's auto-ordinance in name only; They're serially made by Kahr arms

Pic related blew one operators head off and took another one down BY HIMSELF

Operators are a fucking meme, police officers are the real tactical GODS.

>During a ROBIN SAGE exercise on 23 February 2002, Moore County Deputy Sheriff Randall Butler shot and killed 1st Lieutenant Tallas Tomeny, 31, wounded Staff Sergeant Stephen Phelps, 25, and detained civilian volunteer Charles Leiber.[13][14] While on patrol, Deputy Butler pulled over the three exercise participants when he determined that their behavior indicated they might be searching for robbery targets.[15]

Once stopped, Leiber (the driver of the pick-up truck) was led by Butler to Butler's patrol cruiser for questioning. The soldiers, under the assumption that Butler was aware of the ongoing Robin Sage training, attempted to bribe him with "Don" (Pineland currency), which looks similar to Monopoly money.[15] Butler then tussled with Tomney for the bag, pushed Tomeny away, then threw the bag to the side. Tomney then backed up and raised his hands, and, according to court documents, "Tomeny [...] did not bump Butler or reach for Butler’s service weapon." Butler then reholstered his service pistol and then "sprayed Tomeny in the eyes with pepper spray until the pepper spray appeared to run out," which caused Tomeny to scream and rub his eyes with his hands. Phelps then moved from his position in the pick-up truck's bed, grabbed the bag with Tomeny's M4 service rifle, and ran for cover in the direction of the woods. Deputy Butler then shot Tomney, turned, and shot the fleeing Phelps who had, after hearing the shots fired at Tomeny, turned suddenly, and due to the wet pavement slipped and fell to his hands and knees. Phelps at this point did not make any attempts to open the bag, and was shot by Butler twice. According to Butler's counsel he had warned Phelps to show his hands, but this was contested.

So some guy went nuts in a faux exercise and was able to shoot a couple people down in a panic and you think this is some type of tactical play that is worthy of a thread

That's fucking stupid shit OP.

According to some recent information I've been analyzing a Christian secret society called the Underground Church have developed one.
Overall the information at 4224doctors.blogspot.com takes about 16hrs to fully understand. There are threads on ATS, Reddit, and /x] about it. I for one believe the information to be credible. Your name is "Dan" if you don't intend on visiting reddit. It's related to a cryptographic propaganda material the Underground Church has been fingered as producing: 11BX-1371.

In strict terms of weaponry and the R&D of a biological weapon of this magnitude - a airborne pathogen thats more contagious than the common flu and more deadly than Ebola.. Is it possible for an elite, well funded, group with the man power and financial holdings to produce such a virus?

Even developing such a weapon would require a level-4 containment facility with test specimens (animals & humans) and a disposal system. There are few facilities that are publicly known, so my question to you /k/nights is: is it really possible?
