Yeah, no, those state department officials can go and fuck themselves those filthy traitors to their country.

Instead of supporting the legitemate and democraticaly elected Syrian government, they want to support the "rebels" which are just a bunch of terrorists like Al-Nusra (Al-Qaeda). The very same organisation that killed thousands of Americans.
>>
>>30323771

"Rebels" when we like them, "terrorists" when we don't.

"Government" when we like them, "regime" when we dont.

"Army" when we like them, "regime forces when we don't.

"Rebel forces attacked units of Assads Regime today"

"Terroists attacked units of the Syrian Army today."

Holy shit. I am reading through Storm of Steel, almost done. What a fantastic book! You know strangely a part of the book that stuck out to me was how he mentioned grunts sometimes welcome the artillery barrages so the pen-pushers and other people issuing out trivial tasks would go away.

Anyways, what are some other great books /k/ related?

Storm of Steel is fantastic. What I noticed most is how often Junger stays alive just by getting lucky. So many times he was a hair's length from death.

Anyway here's my submission for required reading for all /k/manndos.

currently reading "the first and the last" by adolf galland. i'm enjoying it so far. before that was "i flew for the fuhrer" by heinz knoke. i think it could have been better if it had been written as a memoir as opposed to his diary. he'd go a month or two without entering anything at times, which was somewhat frustrating. it was till good overall though. an interesting introspect into the mind of an average german 20something in the early-mid '40s.

Here's some more WWI with your Junger.

I love Junger, because while he's acknowledging the traumatic "war is hell" shit, his response is to get mad and go all "blood for the blood god".

I'm playing with the idea of picking up a Mini 14 Ranch Rifle. The only issue is I've heard a lot of mixed reviews on them, can you gents give me some legit opinions of the rifle?

The "lol inaccurate" meme was about the older version of the Mini-14. Anything built in the last decade should be fine.
>>
>>30323462
That seems to be the major knock against it
>>
>>30323399
Probably functions fine, it's just overpriced for what it is. AR's are objectively better and cheaper, same with mags, accessories, etc.

So I was searching the legality of shooting down drones and came across this (see pic related) I knew that in the US you could have handguns but bloody hell this might be a bit excessive

I think with the magic of compositing it could be a great way of adding a lot of realism to movies, without compromising the safety of the actors.

Unfortunately its expensive, and most environments are not places it can be done.
>>
>>30322861
It's probably not safe
>>
>>30322861
A bit of an unnecessary risk considering not every actor is Keanu Reeves and actually knows how to use a gun

In a shtf scenario what would be the most appropriate weapon platform for home/neighborhood defense? Considering that most houses are spaced very close to each other?

Lets say the main threat is armed bandits.

If only his cartoon had half the bantz of his twitter feed.

Anyways, AR-15 OP. Great for reaching out as needed (for neighborhood defense) and goes through house walls less than 9mm or buckshot unless you load it up with green tip.

Have a useful related link then: ar15.com/ammo/project/Self_Defense_Ammo_FAQ/index.htm

It's odd but from what I've found, both the really light (like 40gr) and really heavy (70+ gr) rounds are most likely to tumble in drywall. Google it, there's some other interesting research out there about ARs being only beaten by birdshot for overpenetration concerns.

Why do countries with both a space program and a submarine fleet don't just send nuclear submarines to space ? You have a bonafide armored spaceship already designed, all it takes for one to win the arms race by putting a nuclear weapons platform in orbit would be to strap rocket boosters to the submarine and launch it.

Here's an illustration I made 4 you so that you can visualize this idea.

Probably this. And the fact that submarines act in a high pressure environment, while spacecraft operate in an extremely low pressure environment. There's probably a few design differences.

So, say I want a SCAR-17 without spending $3,000 for one and I have access to a machine shop for about 2 months. Would it be cheaper to build one from scratch, machine some of the parts, or buy one new and spend 3k?

I don't have the energy or inclination to be a "gun enthusiast"

I just want something I can leave loaded in my nightstand forever in case some faggot ever breaks a window in the middle of the night. MAYBE take it to a range and put a box through it every couple of years if I feel like I'm forgetting which end the bullets come out of.

Now I've heard some shit that semi-automatic pistols will get fucked up springs if you just leave them loaded for an extended period of time? Like if I had a Glock or 1911 in a drawer, and didn't touch it again until the day I needed it in 2019, it might just go click.

Is that true? Should I just get a revolver for this job?

seconded. A revolver will work with a trigger pull every time with minimal or zero training.

But semis do not just stop working cause of worn out springs, that is not how that works.
