Yes, because fuck carrying that thing around and having to dig a mortar-pit for it.
No, because contrarian.

Is there any good reason to own a lever action pistol?
Is there any good reason NOT to own one?

It'll still fire bullets even when you're not on horseback.
how do i remove the rust?
>>30369351
Wd40 and sandpaper or steel wool
>>30369351
oil and steel wool, it may be too late for that knife though
Would kroil (penetrating oil) work?
What AK's should I absolutely stay away from? I'm relatively new to these rifles and I'm not looking for anything fancy just a good solid rifle.
According to /akg/, any and all ak47s need to be stayed away from.
All of them.
Which is strange, considering it's supposed to be a "sturdy platform with loose tolerances where you can't go wrong"
>>30369089
Anything american made is utter trash. Look for euro imports or AK's made from part kits. DDI is the flavor of the month right now. Wasr's are good too. Just inspect for canted sites and mag wobble for buying though.

Yo i have this old bayonet i found in my ak case. Any idea where i can get this sharpened? Local knife company said they cant do it
>>30368829
The steel it's made of is very soft. You can sharpen it just like you would any other knife but it won't hold an edge for shit
Its meant to stab, thats why its dull.
>>30368871
Sorry i dont know much about guns and knives still. Im a new collector
I dont get it.
>>30368610
Just like how the car industry was destroyed by car insurance.
Lol no it wouldn't. The insurance companies would probably do their due diligence in researching gun related crime/deaths. That means that expensive handguns, rifles, and the ar15 would probably be the cheapest and least restrictive to insure considering the ar15 is used very rarely in gun crime.
Hi-points and El cheapies would probably be more the insure.
>way less people killed by guns than cars
>vast majority would still be unemployed niggers with no insurance
That's just wrong, but as per usual democrats want to force white people to pay for their black pets.

I spend a lot of time in the rocky mountains during the summer and was wondering, what is a good and compact(can fit in a standard backpack) firearm that can put down a moose or bear with minimal fuss.
Something around the $1000 range would be ideal.
>>30368563
Ptr cqb pistol.

That's off the top of my head

I cannot decide for the life of what rail I want for the SPR build I'm doing.
Thinking about a MI G3 LW Mlok.
Is mlok any good? How is it compared to keymod? I have experience with keymod and quads. What other mlok rails should I look into?
Also, wasn't there a google docs spreadsheet going around that had specs of all different kinds of rails so you could easily compare?

I went to re sight my red dot in at 50 yards today and got a group I was okay with (2.5 moa) and then moved on to the iron sights. I mbus pros are backwards in the fact that you have to turn the dial a different direction than specified to get the post to raise and lower. I also fucking suck at shooting groups but am the best when it comes to hitting cans or bottles in one shot and definitely the best when it comes to running tacticool drills. Fuck life.
I've been a gun enthusiast for 4 or 5 years now, I like to go to the range and shoot but I've never hunted before.
I was invited by my cousin to go deer hunting and I have a few questions for /k/ hunters, what is with the vehement attitude of hunters against hearing protection? When I asked my cousin about what kind of hear protection he uses he laughed in my face like I was a retard "you can't use hearing protection when hunting, hunting is about hearing not vision". For a second I thought he was retarded but upon looking at a hunting forum...

don't be retarded. When you shoot, you wear muffs and plugs. It doesn't matter what you're doing. Later, you get to laugh in HIS face, except he won't even hear you.
Most hunters use electronic ear protection. They jack the volume up so they can hear a deer piss 100m away
>>30368469
You can't mind over matter hearing damage, however I did grow up hunting without hearing protection. These days, it depends on the style of hunt for if I wear earpro.
Electronic earpro makes it easier to protect yourself, but I find I lose sense of direction with them. Not a huge deal in a stand since you will usually be set up on/overlooking a game trail anyway, but if you are stalking then being able to immediately pinpoint where a noise is coming from is an advantage.
I found an M1917 Enfield (Eddystone) at my "local" gun store. The barrel is a 5 groove with great rifling and the bore is relatively bright, and not dark or pitted. The finish on the receiver has me a bit puzzled though. It looks like this image that I found online. I did some reading but couldn't find much. Sources say they were blued, green parked and parked to almost look black when the were rearsenaled. This looks more like a paint than a park job though. Can anyone chime in on this?
>>30367829
Looks like pretty usual wear and tear. if I'm not mistaken it has a light plum tinge to it right?
>>30367850
I want to say yes, but I'm unsure. The parts with wear (that would be "in the white" have a yellow look, which I'm guessing is stained from cosmoline or some sort of oil/grease preservative. I was just curious because it doesn't look like a park or blue job. It looks almost like paint. Again, heres another image I found that's comparable.
>>30367897
On that specific picture everything in the flash looks like someone tried to refinish it with paint or if/when these things were rearesenaled coated again

John Cramsey, the Holland Tunnel "arsenal" guy had a daughter who OD'd on Heroin 4 months ago.
What a shame, she was actually, mega hot

What would a world class 20 year old model be doing Heroin for?
I feel back for the guy, but modelling is not something you should push young, psychologically fragile women into
