I want a .380, but im having trouble getting a proper sized one. I have rather larger hands, and most .380s Ive found feel like they came out of a cereal box. I want something around the slightly less then/ to compact sized like pic related
what do you guys recommend?
>>27533455
I recommend you buy a mid sized 9x19.
Literally the only positive aspect of .380 is the size of the round making it easier to fit into compact handguns. 9mm is just straight up better for larger handguns.
Do not buy a Bersa. Trigger will fail

When a fmj .223/5.56 is shot in ballistic gel, you can see the temorary stretch cavity is as big as a basketball. Will similar effects occur when you shoot a man in the chest?
Not as much because you have shit like bone, tendons and other gristle making the target more dense than gel.
Ballistic gel is just a medium that easily shows effects of bullets in something similar to meat. It's not a 1:1 comparison by any means.
That's why FBI minimum penetration is something like ~12" in gel. Lots of people aren't 12" thick in the chest, but they're not made out of a consistent gel either.
But, generally, if something performs consistently well in gel, it'll work well in meat.
>>27533279
Keep in mind that the temporary cavity is just that, temporary. It's the wound left behind afterwards that matters.
>>27533793
>Lots of people aren't 12" thick in the chest, but they're not made out of a consistent gel either.
Yeah, simply breaking skin going in is probably an inch's worth, breaking skin going out is 2-3 inches, bones are buggers, and a lot of tendons and such are probably a lot...

GTFO. You don't belong here.
Looking to get my CCW, but no idea where to start.
>Good gun for a beginner?
>Live in MO. Do CCW laws vary county to county ?
>Do a lot of traveling from STL to KC. Also visit Illinois pretty frequently. Will I get fucked of I get pulled over in IL, even if I have my CCW for MO?
Like I said... I have no idea where to start. Any help and advice is much appreciated.
>Good gun for a beginner
Glock 19 or S&W Shield. Get a GUN BELT. Extra thick leather or rigid nylon. Get a decent holster for your specific gun. If a holster is "universal" it's "a piece of shit."
I'm not familiar with the laws up there.
>>27532977
Get a Hi-Point, you are only going to end up carrying a few days then giving up when you realize it's not as fun as you thought, so don't waste too much money.
Go take a CHL class at a range or something. It will answer all of your questions. As for what to carry, it's mostly personal preference. Try some before you buy and decide what, if any, safety features you want.
Hello /k/,

OMAR'S COMIN!
Still 'sharpening' your knife? Well, don't let it get dull, just strop it after some use, don't be stupid.
Pic related at it's best.
There's a difference between sharpening and honing.
The average person will not remove enough metal to alter the geometry in their lifetime.
A new knife is $50 anyway.
>>27532010
well, these are benchmades, so $80+, have great customer service and will put an entire new blae for $30-$40.
anyway the honing/stropping crap:it's true what you say, always recommend to strop your knife, instead of letting it get dull and than resharpen it
>>27531953
Thats what happens when you use a belt sander to sharpen regularly.
Holy shit guys I think I figured out the ultimate way to rek these idiots. My kikebook has blown up with euro trash bitching about murica but this works every time.
Literally just ask them why and how. Be curious and when they answer act confused (or mostly you really are confused by there shit) When they see that someone they think is neutral is confused and can call the problems with there ideas they shut up or more often get violent and abusive. Call them out on them this like "woh why are you being mean all of a sudden? I thought you guys were the non violent...

I have a short cylinder bore shotgun that won't pattern for shit.
Want to load it with some 2 3/4" slugs.
Maybe put a red dot on it.
Want slugs to long lasting, so I guess sealed?
Low recoil is a plus.
Accurate is a plus.
Cheap is a plus.
Surplus is a plus, I guess.
Want some good shotgun slugs to throw in the closet for the next couple decades.
Suggestions?
>>27531088
Are these sealed?
How long can they be stored before they're not reliable?
>>27531151
No not sealed. Are you storing them in contact with the elements? No? Dont worry about it.
>>27531267
What if I swim across a river and submerge them and then try to shoot them a month later?
/k/,
I need a carry gat and Im a little indecisive. Im between a few things:
>g43
It'll conceal nicely and it just works
>m&p shield with apex trigger kit
muh mag cap
>sig p6/p225
my main range toy is a sig p228 so I wouldnt mind carrying double action in the event that I can get my hands on one of these, may conceal decently as the p228 just barely prints in an appendix holster.
>cz sp01 or 2075 rami
wouldnt mind a cz...

What is this button thing on the left side of the M-1944 pistol belt for?
Not Op, but I've got similar questions regarding this type of belt. I've got an Austrian version of this (cold war surplus), are the dimensions the same? Also any information on how these were worn would be greatly appreciated.
>>27529250
Just around the waist.
>>27529250
The web belt was worn as a belt with greens.
As the basis for the patt 58 webbibg (SLR webbibg)
It was not worn with barracks dress, we had to buy staple belts in unit or Corps colours for that.
So I got bitten by the dagger bug and went searching around or a decent production piece this weekend. I would have gone with a custom, but I don't necessarily want to drop that much coin or wait for one. I ended up settling on one of Ka-Bar's new production John Ek series (the model 4 specifically). While I've always been interested in some of the classic military designs (V-42, Fairbairn-Sykes, etc) I had never known the history of the Ek Commando knives. Here's some good history on them: http://www.fairbairnsykesfightingknives.com/ek-knives.html

I love mine and the Ek design in particular. More durable than a FS or V-42 but still retaining all the desirable properties of a good dagger.
Obviously if Ek had the business foresight to still be making them like they used to in the 40s I'd have picked on of those up but that's not an option.
Only complaint was the sheath which was an easy fix.
>>27528734
What did you do to fix the sheath? And did you have a FS or V-42 on hand to compare the Ek to? Or are you going by just the nature of the designs?
>>27528768
The sheath has two lumps of kydex or whatever polymer du jour so you need to 'peel' the sheath outwards in order to draw.
It already has a clasp which is more than adequate to keep the knife in place so I just whittled the kydex away.
I got a big boner for the FS knife so I started researching them which led me to looking at the V-42 and other military daggers/stilettos. Common complaints regarding the FS and V-42 were that due to the narrow blade and rat tail tang they had a habit of...
