Bought a 1948 K-31 from Simpsons ltd with a 7.55 bore. The Sales men advised me against picking out the rifle based on bore size and rather based on over appearance. This will be my first rifle other than my old Remington targetmaster .22 . So should I be worried and believe all this talk about anything past 7.53 as over priced shoot out shit or relax and wait for my Swiss steel?

thats a decent price for it. Its a fantastic rifle. It is a little expensive to feed at about .50c a round but its nothing to what that guy was saying.

Had a great thread the other day on starting a /k/ommune sort of thing by taking over an abandoned town. Now we need to find one that is suitable to our needs. Hopefully the guy who originally had the idea can come back and share some info.
Here's what it'll need to have/be:
Far away from other cities
Lot's of forest/Desert around it
Have buildings that aren't completely destroyed
Be able to support roughly 100 people to start with I'd assume
Having plumbing and electricity already installed would be nice
Anything else?

Starting with a favorite, the A-1 sky raider.
Not the fastest, not the prettiest, but tough as nails and had loiter time to spare. Just what you need for doing just about anything that needed doing.
Even now theyd make great coin aircraft, personell transports, trainers, target tugs, escorts, observers, etc...
