TP-82.

The standard issue gun on every Soyuz spacecraft.
Three barrels, can shoot slug, buckshot/pellets, flares and standard ammo (with its rifled barrel).
Its detachable stock is a machete in a cover.

Astronauts' training for Soyuz flight includes target practice with this gun. They praise the accuracy and comfortable use.

...what ammo does it use for the rifled barrel, and what caliber of shotgun ammo?

>>
Rifle used 5.45×39mm.

Shotgun barrel used 12.5×70 mm (40 Gauge).

>5.45×39

Standard AK-74 ammo? Damn, this thing must have a kick when you fire it like a pistol (without stock).

They could use it in space instead of a jetpack.
>>
>>28085248
With a full length barrel the impulse of 5.45x39 is in the .357SIG to .45ACP region. And then we run it through that barrel with the same powder?

Find out which kel tec model. Buy him a laser or somethig for it, or at least a mag. Or hell even some ammo.
>>

>at least a mag
This is a good idea.

If you get him a knife, a good choice would be an Ontario RAT-1. It far outperforms its price, one of the best values for folders out there.

I don't know where else to ask this but do you think it's worth having a car in the military?

I currently drive an 06 Mustang GT and I'm enlisting in the Navy. I'll be in San Diego for a couple years so it'll cost $1000-$1500 to move my car over there. Is it worth it? Did you guys use your car often in the military?

Another option I'm thinking of is selling my car and buying a motorcycle again once I'm over there.
15 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
>>28084860
Yes it is absolutely worth it. Consider this:

You already have a mustang. You are one HUGE step ahead of the brand new E-2 or E-3 in the dorms (or barracks for other fags) who spends 75% of their pay on a car payment on a loan with some ungodly interest rate.
>>
How do you know you'll be in San Diego?
>>
>>28084860
Can you not drive it to San Diego?

Do You want a bike? And do you want to use this as a catalyst? If you can afford it, I'd try to keep the car, and get a bike, but that may not be an option.

>>28084865
>Huge Step Ahead
It's an '06 Mustang GT, not and enlistment bonus ducati.

If you can pay cash for the bike, and want to ride one in all weather conditions do it, because you might as well spoil yourself, and payments suck

What does /k/ think of Active Protection Systems?

Most experts agree that China leads in this field, does the USA plan to catch up?
Instead of making domestic APS systems, Russia would be better off buying Chinese wons. Just that they should not copy it.

Personally im really tempted to buy one, the concept of a basically no recoil carbine with a cheap ammo that looks hella cool sounds good to me. Even if it comes at a high price.
>>
No recoil my ass, shot a retired model and when 20 rounds leave the barrel in a half a second it'll go up pretty fast. Nothing like the kick of a good AR but still. Also, ammo for that thing is like Auschwitz for money
>>

You see that angled bit at the front with the groove that looks like a great spot to hold on to, just behind the foregrip?
Apparently it can malfunction/break if you hold it like a foregrip.
Even though it's almost perfect for the job, it can't do it.

If you are one of the unlucky fucks like i am to own just about any semi auto Taurus Hand gun i may have good news.
I have owned a Taurus Millennium PT pro 45 ACP for about 5 years and i stopped shooting it about 4 years ago because it never fired straight now matter how much i practiced or adjusted sights.
It would jam and stove pipe consistently every few shows and over all just dumb problems like the mag falling out for no reason because the clip would not hold it in properly.

Well it seams i wasn't the only one a Class action lawsuit is being taken against them after a police officer dropped a Taurus PT model and it slam fired and shot him in the chest.
so here is the info and link if you would like yours fixed for free or get up to 200$ back for the gun.

If you own one or more of the following “Class Pistols” : PT-111 Millennium; PT-132 Millennium; PT-138 Millennium; PT-140 Millennium; PT-145 Millennium; PT-745 Millennium; PT- 609; PT-640; and PT-24/7 pistols (including the “PRO” series of each of these models), you may be entitled to the settlement benefits below. The settlement does not include Taurus G2 model pistols.

Settlement Payment Option – Settlement Class Members may elect to return their Class Pistol to the Taurus Companies and receive a payment of up to $200 per Class Pistol.
Enhanced Warranty – The Taurus Companies agree to modify their existing warranty for all Class Pistols to allow any owner to submit a warranty claim at any time.
The Class Pistol will be inspected by the Taurus Companies at no cost and repaired or replaced as necessary.
The Taurus Companies will pay all costs associated with this enhanced warranty, including but not limited to the cost of shipping to and from the Taurus Companies and the cost inspect the Class Pistol.

I also forgot to mention that one of my close friends just went though talking to Taurus over the phone and if you give them enough shit over the phone about how terrible you think your gun is they will replace it with a brand new model they don't mention this in the lawsuit.

Fucking neat.
I got a taurus revolver that I don't particularly hate but I had one of their .380 sub compacts once and it's the only gun I was happy to sell. I think it was a PT-738? Don't remember.
>>
This is good news. I'm having no luck at all finding a new sucker to buy my PT140 piece of shit.

what would be a good microphone for recording quality sounding gunfire for under $100?
Zoom H1?
Edutige ETM-001?

I don't want my videos to sound like shit, that really bothers me. I'll also be using the mic to record exhaust sounds. The cheaper the better.

Googling what mic records "gunshots" or "rifles" is rather difficult, since there are shotgun mics and rifle mics... and hardly anyone cares about this subject.

Hey /k/ what would you recommend as a first rifle for an 18yo ? Ive been interested in guns all my life and im ready to buy my first one.

> I like guns with a "cool factor" either from being unique, or just badass or sexy.

> Not looking to go to war or become a vigilante im only looking to shoot at ranges as a hobby. so the most operator gun of the year isnt waht im interested in

What does /k/ think of the mini 14? I like the m1a style of guns, but not sure if 7.62 would be a good caliber for a first gun for me being the 18yo armchair general that I am.

My first rifle was a Lee-Enfield an never regreted that choice.

If you want an M1A, go for it man, they are good rifles.

Eh, I was just typing out a new thread. I'll highjack yours tho =]

I've recently had the chance to go shooting for the first time ever. Holy shit is it fun. My first shot was with a Ruger M77 7mm. I ended up shooting 3 kangeroos with 3 shots. Shot a duck in the head from around 70 yards.

Since then I've probably shot 10-15 roos, 10 emu's over 15 foxes and a dozen rabbits using the 7mm, 220 swift and a 22 over three nights hunting. I'm getting to be a decent shot. I got a bird that was swimming around on a dam with the 22 (A ruger) from around 80 yards with slight wind. Two shots for it tho. I can also shoot a one-two inch group offhand from 50 yards with the 22 (we have shooting competitions after work, haha).

So now I'm looking for some advice. I want to purchase my own gun. I'll be getting my license shortly (Aussie) but I'm not sure what to get.

I want something with cheap bullets and that shoots flat and fast. The majority of shooting i'll be doing is foxes and cats from 150+ yards, some a lot further. I'd like something for hogs and deer, but i'll have fewer opportunities for that, so that's less of a priority. Definitely going to be getting a 22 as well. Rabbits are good fun and easy to find where I live.
>>
I would figure if you're 18 yo looking for "coolness" you'd immediately sink into AR or AK. Or will laws not let you.

>waaaaaah, all these retardedly expensive guns with giggle switches on them might depreciate if the NFA is repealed! What do you mean I might have to reap the consequences of my spending on NFA guns?!
What a fucking faggot.

I come from a family of veterans and they all warn me not to join the U.S. military. Both of my parents were U.S. Army officers and one of my grandfathers fought in the Korean war. I also have current family members in the Marines, Army and Navy. Growing up in the environment has given me a sense of pride for my parent's accomplishments. A sense of pride that I don't think I could find anywhere else. As I go about my university degree and start a career, I feel as though I could never match what my parents have done. It's always been a dream of mine to join the U.S. Marines. To earn the right to wear the uniform and have the title of United States Marine. But those who have been there seem disillusioned. Is it all propaganda? Will I just end up being miserable? Will I just be disappointed that my childhood dream was nothing like I thought it would be? I'm really conflicted.

The military is not that bad. All my life people have told me "the infantry sucks don't join, you'll just have a shitty time" guess what I love every second of it. Truth be told people complain about it way too much. You may be more inclined to join the Military because of your parents but that still doesn't change that you are willing to join. Just do it and don't look back mate. Just join and make yourself proud.
