So a /fa//k/ thread?
Alright, I'm curious if someone with some more knowledge on the subject than me can help educate us on what went on in Fallujah.
Everyone knows it had some of the firecest fighting of the Iraq War.
But everytime it comes up, I hear people go 'The Army fucked it up and the Marines had to fix it! and then at the same time I hear 'The Marines fucked it up and the ARMY had to fix it!'
Can we get an unbiased account of what really happened?

Exactly this. Just missed a few especially unlucky contractors getting strung up.

How long until this thread goes to shit?
It took 10-12 posts last time. Stop bragging about your job.

The idea for the thread is okay, but OP is a faggot and needs to chill about it

Does a Desert Eagle .50 Cal have any pros except stopping power (if you can hit your target)?
I feel like it's more of a fancy gadget than an actual usable gun.

Are you a huge fan of 80s and 90s action movies?
If yes, that's all the reason you need to get one.
>>28233340
I am, but then I'd rather have a Beretta 92F (Die Hard) instead of a Deagle.

how much ammo do you horde /k/?
me:
9mm-480
.308-110
5.56-680
5.45-2180

less than 2k rounds of a caliber isn't hoarding, that's just want you need bare minimum if you shoot often.
9mm - 19 I lost one somehow...
12ga - 160ish mostly target shot though

Jeans are operator as fuck. Navy seals wore them in Vietnam.
Reposting from old thread
Hello gearcunts, I have been thinking about of differences between body armor and plate carriers in american type of insurgency/innawoods situation. I personally have experience in using body armor and combat vest during my time in FDF and they really did not hamper my movement that during excersises. That being said I would ditch all armouring and carry bare necessities around on person and rest of the shit in rucksack in insurgency situation.
How do you see where the thin line of no protection to plate carriers go in your own planning and preparing?
ITT: Guns you want no matter what reason or rationality tells you.
I don't even buy into >muh .45 stopping powah or any of that. I just enjoy its history and WWII history. I also think it's sexy.
>>28230762
>not wanting a WWII 1911
do people this retarded exist?
>Guns you want no matter what reason or rationality tells you.
pic related. all of it, i want all of it. The only thing I have is a k98.
>inb4 hurrr wehraboos
I've got SMLE's, slav shit, and a but of GI stuff.
You never see wehrmacht shit yet it was influential as fuck. see: mauser bolt and MG42 for starters.

But that capacity and OAL. So sexy.
Saw this on another forum..... damn! How come this is not more well known?
Because it's bullshit
>>28229897
Dude, I don't even know what to say about this.
Other than u dum of course
>>28229897
It is well known. What is also well known is the fact that Lockheed used the tech to refine and troubleshoot the design; it was not lifted wholesale. There is almost no similarity at all beyond very broad strokes.
Go look at youtube vids of how the Yak-43 performed short and vertical takeoff, and how it landed. Compare with the F-35. Then tell me how much direct similarity there is. You don't even need to dig into general schemata.

Lithuania chooses the Boxer as its next IFV.
88, 84 IFVs with 4 command variants.
And instead of the pictured Lance turret, they've gone with Elbit's UT 30 Mk 2 unmanned turret.
The Boxer beat out competition from
Patria's AMV fitted with the UT 30 Mk 2 turret; ; the Iveco SuperAV fitted with the UT 30 Mk2 turret; the Nexter VBCI with the T25 or T40 turret; the General Dynamics Land Systems LAV II with the Kongsberg MCT30 turret; the General Dynamics European Land Systems Piranha V; the Otokar Arma and Mizrak-30 turret; and the FNSS...

that unmanned turret is pretty cool.
nice to see an army actually using the boxer in a combat role, we (nl) only use ours for command, ambulance, engineering and cargo rolls
the ut30 is fucking huge. talk about maintaining a low profile. next gen of russian unmanned turrets look much more compact

>300AAC most versatile intermediate cartridge

When did you realize this meme caliber is here to stay and will bring a new renaissance of AR versatility?
>pic related, I just bought 600 rds of 300AAC
>>28215926
I don't care what he says, even if he is a self-titled expert. .300BLK is never going to be fundamentally better than **.45ACP**, and it's never going to be a legitimate rifle round, because subsonic speed is just a huge limitation and the only way to make it better is to use a far larger bullet than thirty-caliber. The 9x39 Russian subsonic is getting close because the bullet is enormous, but it's still comparatively shit because it's subsonic.
There is no advantage that a .300BLK carbine...
