I am tired of seeing all these no-gunz wanting buy shitty guns only to bitch about them later on. Oddly enough seeing all those threads has made me want to purchase a fancier carry pistol. Since I am not a richfag but can save enough money to make a purchase around tax season I am looking at the Kimber offerings. I have always loved Kimber but never really heard anything negative about them. So tell me /k/ why should I not purchase an Ultra Carry II

Are the Adler shotties made in Australia?
>>

No made in Turkey, but they caused controversy in Australia. You should know that the lever action is brand new technology that fires too quickly for any civilian to own, and it's the NRA's fault it's still available in Australia.

Yeah.

The burden of proof for a libel suit in the US is ridiculous, so the fact that he actually won one is a sign of how utterly full of shit Chris Kyle was.

Also, it made faggots angry.

Missile launchers and APCs as well

So what's the deal with the G36, is it a good rifle? Were reports of melting overblown?

It's good enough to fuck with Turkey. So I'm good with it.

It seems like it isn't really bad. The Germans used the damn thing for 20 years, after all.. But the German fetish for heavy rifles continues and they are ordering HK 417 to issue to some units as a replacement.

Kurdistan Nationalist could do a hell of a lot worse then the G36 though. Good luck to them carving off bits of Syria, Iraq, Turkey and Iran.

What happens in a full nuclear strike, do you fire all you have at the same time? Or do you fire some and keep some in reserve, hoping they don't get destroyed in a retaliatory strike of course.

Most nations are committed to only using atomic weapons in defense, after being attacked by weapons of mass destruction.

Depends who you are. The US/USSR (later Russian Federation) adopt a two step program where a first-strike is launched at identified targets, launch sites, ect in attempt to kill some weapons before they fire, while a second sight is launched after to kill any targets that survived the first exchange and hopefully end the war.

Most other nations, in the event they are attacked with weapons of mass destruction they would launch a single massive retaliatory strike intended to overwhelm defenses and end the war.

Can we have a faces thread? Images like pic related? I need to build my folder and need /k/ related images that involve kebabs, slavs, guns, and such related shenanigans.

>M1A

kind of expensive to buy, ~$1300, mags are kind of expensive, brownells has them for $30 i think, you might call it a dated design if youre a faggot, i guess the bedding wears out too quick for some people, some say not to fully disassemble them as not to disrupt the bedding. all in all a good rifle

>FAL
also expensive, can get a DSA FAL for about $1000 but ive heard mixed reviews, has a cast receiver which gets shit on a lot. getting a "real" FAL, like a L1A1 or an imbel or whatever is going to run you about $1500. for a surplus gun. not saying they arent worth it, they are, but thats a lot of cheddar.

>PTR
the cheapest. ~$800. pretty heavy, about 10.5 lbs loaded, some find it unwieldy, no bolt lock back, roller delayed blowback is dirty as fuck. they are reliable and accurate though, and sexy as hell. not friendly to left handed people. mags are cheap as fuck.

Dummkopf Edition

> What's this thread about?
As usual this thread is for the discussion and pics of tracked and wheeled AFVs of all kinds from MBTs to supertanks to self propelled AA guns. Please keep it civil and cite sources for statistics.

Despite Henschel’s victory in the Tiger competition, competitor Porsche had already sunk a significant amount of effort and capital into designing their own version (the VK4501(P)) – to the extent that they were confident enough to initiate production orders to some 90 tanks even before the results of the competition was announced. The Tiger (P)s that were left over were speedily put to use, some serving as a slightly different base for the original Tiger design, but most being fitted with a reinforced superstructure, elongated chassis and the hugely powerful PaK 43/2 8.8 cm L/71 gun. This retrofitting was done by Alkett Works at Berlin-Spandau, wherein a fixed turret was built to accommodate the long gun and the original Porsche engines were replaced by Maybach engines of equivalent power. The vehicle that would emerge, the SdKfz 184, was dubbed the “Ferdinand”. Later, it would earn the name of “Elefant”, joining its brethren in the menagerie of German tanks. The tank destroyer quickly carved out a fearsome reputation for itself; with 200 mm of steel armour on its frontal arc, and weighing over 65 tonnes, it would first see combat at the famed battle of Kursk in May 1943. Superior firepower and staying power were the main qualities of the Elefant, rather than any kind of finesse. By late 1943, Ferdinand units were pulled out of Russia and refitted with maintenance operations and upgrades, including a commander’s cupola and hull machineguns – the lack of which was a key liability during Kursk – and later defend against the Soviet counteroffensives.

OP: As always, feedback, suggestions wanted and appreciated.
The Ferdinand was a potent vehicle, but as was the case with a fair few of the Wehrmacht’s heavier automotives, constantly let down by its utter lack of mobility; that said, its overall range was 150 km on a full tank, putting it far ahead of similarly roled vehicles like the Jadgpanther. The gun depression of the cumbersome L/71 and the fixed placement of the turret were key issues that led to many Elefants being incapacitated by faster moving Soviet tank groups and anti-tank weapons, without the opportunity for a commensurate reply by the Elefant’s powerful gun. The armour of the Elefant seems to have held up, as a large number of the Elefants present during the opening days of Kursk were abandoned rather than outright destroyed – nevertheless, a number of Soviet tankers including SU-152 crewmen reported kills on Elefants at several junctures during the battle. The lack of meaningful anti-personnel capability on the Elefant was also a problem, particularly during the heaviest moments of Kursk, although this was somewhat mitigated by the addition of a 7.92 mm MG34 in the hull in late war rebuilt vehicles – precisely 48 were modified in this manner.
In the end, a key lesson to take away is never compromise on the strategic mobility of an AFV in the event of a ground war spanning a large, open front, nor should tactical considerations be ignored for the sake of a single outstanding capability – in this case, it was Hitler’s agitation for the deployment of Elefants to the Eastern Front as soon as possible that led to ambiguous battlefield results.

More tank news, as per the new format.
If you have more queries regarding a news story, just point it out, and I’ll further elaborate and provide links.

The Iraqi Ministry of Defense has announced the transfer of more unspecified Armoured Fighting Vehicles from Bulgaria to Iraq. Social media has corroborated that the transfer includes BMP-1 Infantry Fighting Vehicles and T-72 Main Battle Tanks, both of which are Russian derived designs.
In addition, the Czech firm Excalibur has also delivered 45 BMP-1 IFVs to the Iraqi government. Furthermore, the firm has also reportedly delivered T-72s and other vehicles to the Iraqi government in a series of unspecified deals.
Lithuania as of last week has selected the ARTEC Boxer 8x8 Infantry Fighting Vehicle for its armed forces. The German consortium has confirmed the sale of 88 Boxer vehicles, 84 of which are in an IFV configuration and 4 of which are command post variants. All vehicles are expected to be delivered by the end of 2019.
The Ukrainian Morozov Bureau (KMDB) BTR-4 has been recently spotted in use in North-Eastern Nigeria through online snapshots. The BTR-4Es allegedly ended up in Nigerian hands following a refusal from the Iraqi government to purchase the BTRs and were hence rerouted to Nigeria.
Slovenia’s Valhalla Engineering Group has showcased a conceptual mockup of a new Remote Weapon Station design. The ODIN KM 570 can reportedly mount a Bofors 57 mm cannon with 5.56 or 7.62 mm machineguns in a completely enclosed and power-operated turret,

And that’s all for now.

How should I go about cleaning my M1903 pistol? I dont want to damage anything but I'd love to clean it a bit.

I suppose it's about time for the threads to start again. I'm going to borrow the copypasta intro the kind anon wrote up for last thread as I've been busy and should've made this threads sooner.
