Didn't see one up, so here goes. Need a new pocket knife - budget is $30. Want an easy to re-sharpen steel, and I want something that's really thin, as my work uniform pants have tight pockets (not by choice) and I want to be able to reach into my pocket without fighting my knife every time. Any suggestions?

Idea is thin, cheap to replace, something that's going to get beat on pretty hard - thus I prefer a steel that's quick to sharpen over "long lasting and hard to sharpen".

My european LGS is selling this "Colt Defense" M4 accessorized by magpull with at 14,5" barrel and semi auto.
In theory it looks great since it's the closest I could get to an actual M4 but seems fishy to me for a couple of reasons:
1) I can't find it anywhere on the intrawebs. I know colt defense is not civilian market in the US, so maybe there is that
2) Why colt would accessorize a "non-civilian" weapon with tacticool fagpull stuff ?
3) How did a LE/Military weapon ended up in the civilian market ...in europe?
Has anyone ever heard of this Colt Defense M4 ? Reference I got is LE6920SOC145

It's just they marketing dept. They'll use the M4 interchangeably with LE6920 sometimes. In reality it is just another AR-15 made by colt.

Daesh is not conventional at all, they have been showing off more because they are not fighting a organized military yet. The iraq army just ran off and the syrian army is understaffed and bogged down.

So /k/, recently I've been collecting slugs from the burm I use as a backstop. I just found it interesting and I didn't think much of it until today. I was talking about lead poisoning with a friend and I realised I may be at risk.
I just dig in the burm a bit with my bare hands and pick up the slugs to look at. Should I stop or would I only be at risk if I had open cuts/touched my mouth?

I'd be more worried about trashing your berm by digging foxholes in it by hand. Get a sifter or make one out of an old screen and make sure to pack your holes to keep your berm solid

Okay, here is my situation; I recently got a promotion and will now have a higher base salary. This job is the kind where it is possible to make enemies, dangerous ones, due to the decisions you make, and I have. I have 3 dogs for protection/guard. A two year old Dobie, and a Rotty and German Shepard both five years. I also am getting ADT. Now that I have this higher pay, I'm wondering if I should buy a gun for extra protection, and if so which should I buy. If I do decide to get a gun I was thinking a Glock .357 Sig, but are my dogs enough? New York State Resident if that helps.
