I feel the premise of Civil War 2 is pretty stupid
Rhodes is a big boy and can make his own decisions, so Stark should stfu about all that. He's probably more pissed he didn't make a future predicting machine and he can't be the hero anymore.
What they should have done was make the future vision kid see the Phoenix came back and destroyed earth.
He has a freak out and tells the Inhumans.
They try to grab Jean and say, this is for the good of the whole.
They say no and this in turn starts the Civil War. With one side siding with the X-Men and other side siding with the Inhumans.
They could have the Phoenix vision be "real" but from an alternate earth, which would make the Inhumans side have good intentions but ultimately the kid would now be unusable because his visions are no longer reliable. That way you can end the war in a Stalemate and neither side really loses cuz everyone needs to be a winner since Marvel is going hard in ultra neo sensibilities

I think what's even worse is that Tony is blaming the precog for Rhodey's death even though that's fucking stupid. Tony is basically arguing that they should have ignored the precog and let Thanos do whatever he wants, which would have inevitably lead to a bunch of deaths.
If the intel that Thanos was gonna attack had come from literally anyone else, would Tony have blamed the informant? If the GotG had told Carol that Thanos was coming, would Tony blame them if Rhodey had died in the mission?
What's worse is that he has the gal to say "I TOLD YOU SO!" even though that's not what he said at all, his warnings were about Minority Report, nothing to do with someone dying in a mission to stop Thanos.

Rumored spoilers for the final WOLVERINE movie.In 2038, the Essex Corporation has privatized the United States military and began hunting mutants for genetic experimentation, forcing them into hiding. The X-Men have been disbanded and the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters destroyed.
Wolverine and Professor Charles Xavier are living in El Paso, Texas, and Wolverine is working as a limo driver to afford the medicine needed for Xavier to control his telepathic powers so the voices don't drive him insane. Wolverine is old, weary and borderline suicidal.
One day, Wolverine comes across X-23, a clone of him created by the Essex Corporation, who has escaped. Xavier decides to help her reach a safe haven for mutants across the border. Upon learning of this, Weapon X sends the Reavers, cybernetically-enhanced mercenaries who were all dismembered by Wolverine in the past, to recapture her.
When Wolverine, Xavier and X-23 prove too skilled for the Reavers, the Essex Corporation deploys their secret weapon, X-24, a younger clone of Wolverine completely obedient to Weapon X. In order to protect Xavier and X-23, Wolverine will have to embrace his warrior side once again to stop X-24 and the Essex Corporation.

What does /co/ think of Good vs Evil as a story mechanic? I'm aware that it's a big part of superhero comics, but does one inherently become an edgelord for getting annoyed at the whole "good vs evil" thing?

Annoyed for what reason? Because it simplifies a conflict too much? Not really. Because you think that the bad guy is so much better than the good guy? Arguably.
Personally, I like it when there's shades of grey to it, typically in that "evil" isn't as evil as it seems, but I'm an optimist. The opposite school of thought on the matter is something like Punisher fans, where the "hero" is a ruthless serial killer who is only the hero because the ones he kills are such cartoonishly evil that they DO deserve to die.

It's a cyclic thing. People did get bored of good/evil dichotomy stories... but now it's hero vs hero that's been milked to death instead so people are now yearning for honest super stuff.
