What are the essential paperbacks/collections to get?
Now at 30, after being a tmnt fan all my life, i finally wanna get into the original comics.
I saw someone post this list online. These are all from the volume 1 run of the original Mirage comics. Dunno if you'd be able to find all of these in paperbacks and collections, though, but they're supposedly essential reading, while cutting out some of the more dubious issues from other people that turned the comic into a non-canon shitshow.

yes, some people use models to get the shot looking right, but in the video you posted they seems to not use a reference, and that's really interesting.
Background animation is more of a pain in the ass than anything else, any animator with knowledge in perspective(meaning all) could do it but it's triple the work.

I checked the production credits and sure enough this was animated in Japan by TMS. I don't recall ever seeing this kind of animation in American or Western-animated productions.

Looks technically alright, a bit washed out. Animation looks ok. Although the after school special thing felt a bit condescending so its not my cup of tea. I am not going to waste my time on it, but I do wish they make more stuff I like, which something along the line of 90s batman/superman or Justice League type of stuff. I think the writing in those are stronger. Justice league/unlimited have more continuity in their story line, which is nice, but not necessary.
