Did anyone else think this movie inspired the creation of He-Man? It follows the same hybrid Steampunk/Medevil Formula He-Man would follow. Also the overacting and low budget animation makes this movie horrible and hilarious at the same time.

i don't think it inspired he-man.

my dad was the one that showed this movie to us. it's more than what you're saying it is.

he-man was created because someone had a shit load of Conan the Barbarian toys to sell. They made a shitty TV show and colored Conans hair blonde. The show took off and so did the toy line and the rest is history.

Wayward is a cool West meats East thing I've just started, and pic related is easily the best comic I've read in years that /co/'s had storytimed before. Only other thing I've encountered is Buffy related stuff which is meh.

The War Machine story in this issue was the worst thing I have ever read in my life.
It takes place at War Machine's funeral and it has a bunch of characters talking about him and how he is important to them.
Except it focuses only on black characters. Does War Machine only have black friends? And they had Storm as one of those characters. I have reads hundreds of Marvel comics over the years, and I can't recall a single time they actually met or conversed. The only white (or non-black) characters in it are Kate Bishop and Carol Danvers, who are there because they only bang black dudes. I literally burned this issue and lit a cigarette with it because it pissed me off that much. If I had one wish, it would be for my 3.99$ back because my comic shop doesn't do refunds on issues

A comic with good writing and bad art is still a good comic. A comic with good art and bad writing is still bad. Look at Civil War 2.

Interview with Gal about Wonder Woman

>I feel like Diana is really accessible. It’s very easy to relate to her. She has the heart of a human so she can be emotional, she’s curious, she’s compassionate, she loves people. And then she has the powers of a goddess. She’s all for good, she fights for good, she believes in great. I want to be her. And in Wonder Woman, she has this naiveté in her. It isn’t stupid, it’s magical. I would want to be naïve like that again.

>She’s a young idealist who’s been taught that the world is very simple: it’s black or white, bad or good. It’s how she was raised. It’s what she believes in and there is something charming about the simplistic way in which she sees the world. But once she falls in love and starts her journey with Steven Trevor (Chris Pine), he educates her about the complexity of mankind. There is no such thing as only good and bad, black or white. It’s complicated.

>All my life I’ve been working with male directors which I’ve really enjoyed. And I’m lucky in that I’ve worked with men who have a lot of respect for women. But working with a woman is a different experience. It feels like the communication is different. We talk about emotions. With Patty, it’s a thing now, we communicate with our eyes. She doesn’t need to say a thing. If I’m hurt, she feels the pain. It’s a whole different connection that I have with her. She’s also brilliant, she’s bright, she’s fierce, she’s sharp. She knows exactly what she wants Wonder Woman to be.

>For a long time, people didn’t know how to approach the story. When Patty and I had our creative conversations about the character, we realized that Diana can still be a normal woman, one with very high values, but still a woman. She can be sensitive. She is smart and independent and emotional. She can be confused. She can lose her confidence. She can have confidence. She is everything. She has a human heart.

>It is a big responsibility. We knew we wanted to tell a story that would inspire people: women, men, boys, and girls. And we didn’t want to just show a generic story of a superhero coming of age. We wanted her to be full and whole. This is the first time we are telling this story and I feel like for so many boys, they have great role models to work with. They have Superman and Batman and Spiderman and the list goes on and on. And they are strong and almighty and they are positive and active and proactive.

>For girls, I just had a conversation with my daughter, Alma, and she was saying something about the prince she saw in Sleeping Beauty and she was saying he’s brave and he’s strong. And I said what about the princess and she said, she’s weak. And I said, what do you think of that. And she’s 4, my daughter. And she said, she shouldn’t be weak. And I said why do you think she’s weak, and she said, she’s sleeping the entire movie and the prince comes and kisses her and saves her. She didn’t do anything.

>I feel that I’ve got the opportunity to set a great role model for girls to look up to a strong, active, compassionate, loving, positive woman and I think it’s so important. It’s about time that somebody will do that and I’m very privileged and honored to be the one.

Holy shit, HOW!?

Seriously, help me out here. Does this actually mean the Brickleberry comic has a chance of doing well? Are pre-orders selling out a sign of good sales on Dynamite's part or does that only make up a small amount of the overall sales when you factor in digital copies and whatever physical ones are being stocked in comic book stores?
15 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>84526454
dynamite only prints either 6000 or 10,000 issues per run so it's easy to sell out.
>>
It's still good regardless. Means that demand was surpassed.
>>
>>84526901
What interests me is the fact that the creators of Brickleberry keep saying that if people want a 4th season then buy the comics. Would Comedy Central really feel the property was legit viable if the numbers were that low overall in spite of it selling out?

I know the majority of /co/ (and myself) would rather the artists and writers of comic books and graphic novels have full control over the artistic input to the story without them being hindered by a censorship program like the CCA, but does any of /co/ think that if there was a modified program of the sort, that it could benefit in any way?

Just testing the waters to see if anyone has a special input

I'm not really seeing how this would help anything as it was an attempt to do what the ESRB does I.E. censor comics so the government won't. But it literally didn't matter since the comics scare was started by a guy complaining about racism not violence and sex.

Then we got the silver age out of it and comics that weren't allowed to be realistic at all. As it stands the Big two censor the fuck out of their own work and avoid various issues except either to touch on them for publicity or occasionally a writer sneaks under the radar and writes something interesting.

In short the CCA did nothing of value. If a revised version were introduced what would it even do? Ban crap like Bomb Queen? (for being pointlessly vulgar) how about invincible (tons of gore but aside from that decently standard superhero book)

what exactly would a revised CCA even do?
>>
>>84526612
>complaining about racism not violence and sex.

Not it was about his bullshit study that linked reading comics to causing childhood delinquency
>>
>>84526653
the bullshit study is what caused the national fracas which lead to publishing magnates paranoid about getting censored. the guy's big beef was racism and he kind of went into the comics looking for what he deemd subversive material.

Called Captain America Nazi Nazi Propaganda, same with superman.
