Season 1 was the best and closest to the comics. It rapidly got worse and worse from there.
It wasn't supposed to be a straight up action show, it was supposed to be dark, gothic, and atmospheric

Has anyone ever seen "Romeo and Juliet: Sealed with a Kiss"? I just discovered this movie exists, and based on what little of it I've seen, the animation somehow looks simultaneously good and bad at the same time? Like, the motions are really fluid, almost like a DIsney film, but the colors are extremely flat and the characters clash with the backgrounds in weird ways. What is up with the making of this movie? It's ratings were abysmal; is it some unfinished and sabotaged mess like Food Fight was?

FOX has made a put pilot commitment for a new Marvel action-adventure series, it was announced today by David Madden, President, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company.
The Untitled Fox Marvel Project will focus on two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive. What happened to those nice tame adult cartoons? Daria, Duckman, Beavis & Butthead, The Critic, Mission Hill, The Oblongs, Home Movies. Now when we get adult cartoons, they end up being Family Guy rip offs of, "Look how offensive we can be!!!" with shit like Mr. Pickles, Brickleberry, fucking Sausage Party.

Non comedy-based adult cartoons were never really a popular thing, unfortunately. The closest thing we have to it right now is probably Venture Bros.
